My favorite pieces in that video are the Fife diamond tiara, the kokoshnik diamond tiara, the fleur de lys tiara and the Habsburg floral diamond and pearl tiara

The photos you're showing for the Queen Alexandra's Kokoshnik Tira are a mix between the actual tiara and the Queen Mary Fringe Tiara. It's honestly a really easy mistake to make, as the two are almost identical but the Kokoshnik Tira has bars that come to small points while the Fringe Tiara has a softer, more rounded set of bars. The info presented for the Kokoshnik Tira is correct, but the Fringe Tiara is the one worn by then Princess Elizabeth to her wedding. It was also worn by Princess Anne and, most recently, by Princess Beatrice at her wedding in 2020. The Fringe Tiara was commissioned by Queen Mary from Garrard and was made from a necklace gifted to Queen Mary as a wedding gift from Queen Victoria.

Flawed information. The tiara Elizabeth wore for her wedding was not the same one she wore until her death, she had one gifted to her. There are many in the huge collection and several look alike.

They should have put pearls and turquoise in the last. Pearls and turquoise are beautiful together. It was stunning with the emeralds. They should have put amethyst or tourmaline or aquamarine in place of the emeralds. They probably couldn't find emeralds that large to replace the others.

Ears of Wheat ❤ there's no 'going wrong' in an Ears of Wheat Tiara. I think 🤔 there is more than one belonging to the Royal and Ducal families of Europe. I know Hesse and Italy each had one. 😂 unless it's the same one. The Turqoise tiara is very beautiful as well

The Fife tiara is what one actually dreams of in a tiara! Perfect, elegant, modest, but definitely "there", neither too small nor too big. "Ears of Wheat" tiara is very symbolic and very beautifully crafted. Love the Habsburg Pearl Tiara. Although I understand the symbolism of the Fringe and Kokoshnik-Fringe tiaras to emulate the rays of the sun, therefore denote the wearer with the authority of The Son, I'm not too fond of them. Rigid looking. Good for a Queen, though. They donate authority and power, rather than feminine power. Dom Luis tiara very pretty, rather like the Fife tiara. Oh the Marie-Louise diadem! Van Cleef and Arpels ought to be sued for malicious desecration of property, the emeralds were much nicer. In spite of the fact that I love turquoises, but not in this setting. Too chalky for the diamonds. Looks like costume jewellery close up, thought I have to say, looked better from a distance in the photograph of Marjorie Merriweather-Post actually wearing it. Queen Sylvia of Sweden also has a turquoise-diamond tiara, I think, and I don't like that one either - not sure it's her, it's one of the Queens. Maybe the Netherlands?

Fleur de Lys is the symbol carried by all Royal Houses in Europe that claim to have the blood of Christ's family in them, and was originally restricted only to them on pain of death. The symbolism is supposed to refer to Mary Magdalen, the wife of Christ, and the three children she bore, 2 sons, one of whom was the son of John the Baptist, before he was killed by King Herod; and the other son and daughter being the children of Jesus of Nazareth after her mourning was done. The first son, the son of John the Baptist, supposedly went to Rome, and probably seeded some Italian lineages. I don't know anything about him. The daughter (middle child) bore the ancient royal family of France; and the youngest child, the other son, who was still in the womb at the time of the crucifixion, bore the original royal family in England or Wales, or on the border of the two. At that time England was many parts. Some people claim King Arthur Pendragon was descended from this line, if so, actually Welsh. The Tudor family, with Welsh blood, also apparently carry this line; and the Spencers through descent after intermarriage with the Tudors; therefore also Princess Diana, Prince William, and Prince Harry, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte. Descendants married into many European royal families, and carried this symbol of the bloodline with them. This is according to what I understand about Cathar history of the Blue Bloodline lineages. The Spanish de Bourbons carry this bloodline in their own right anciently, and can wear this symbol in their own right; as did the Plantagenets of England, seeded by William the Conqueror, of Normandy, France. The English Royal Family also separately carry the older bloodline carried by the youngest son who landed in England with Joseph of Arimathea. At Glastonbury, if this legend is true. I find it very interesting to think about. The Fleur de Lys is also carried by some noble houses, like the de Villiers; and also some English noble houses, who were descended from nobles who followed William the Conqueror across the channel. Later, Napoleon and others probably co-opted the symbol to make it seem "French", not what it actually is supposed to be, a denoter of bloodlines.

I love that wheat tiara but it also seems ironic that they would use wheat in an opulent tiara when historically peasants couldn't afford to even buy bread, which was a point of contention leading up to the French Revolution.

Napoleon was more interested in establishing his "place" as a "great Ceasar", than he was in the peasants. Also, the Revolution failed the peasants, as Revolutions always do, and he saw himself as restoring divine order. He put a lot of effort into both unifying France, and establishing a strong set of uniform laws, calendars, weights and measures. Very Roman. Wheat has ancient connotations of both abundance, and sacrifice, therefore establishing a link to the "Old Gods" as well as The Christ. Napoleon was hedging all his bets. And, give him his due, though he rose from nowhere, he knew beauty and opulence when he saw it! I too, totally love this tiara. Perhaps more, given the symbology. Napoleon, for all his faults, was a very poetic and passionate man.

Know this is unpopular, but... I'm not fond of any "precious" stone. Look like so much uncoloured and coloured glass to me. However, being from the American Southwest, I adore turquoise. However, the tiara is pretty busy and doesn't do the turquoise justice

Van Cleef destroyed the Marie Louise Tiara. Those turquoise look cheap and tacky. It was designed with Emeralds not turquoise. They ruined such a beautiful historic piece.

In french, a tiara is a huge closed crown, like the crowns of the popes. What is called tiara in english is called a diadéme in french.... complicated, isn't it?
