Yep, it’s set up, it’s a show, it’s just a trick but I think the genius is in setting up the show and making and preparing the gimmicks. I've never understood people being disappointed by knowing how a trick is done. Disappointed by what? That magic isn't real? Witnessing the skill and ingenuity it takes to do these things without the audience noticing is even more amazing than seeing the trick the first time. Magic isn't exactly my thing, but appreciating human greatness is. It's truly wonderful what these guys do!

I think you’re confused.. the camera man was showing a lot more of the angles than anyone in the audience would’ve ever seen. Obviously if you could see every angle of a magic trick then people could catch on, the entire point of magic is misdirecting people, it hinges on you only seeing specific angles.

They do! As now people can pause, reverse, and even go frame by frame to analyze a trick. So certain shots would completely destroy the integrity of the trick. And AGT would likely see less magicians if they didn't care and just put up every angle for the world to tear apart the performance.

I am a former magician, if you will. Used to do it all the time, not so much anymore. The method of a trick is only 10%. What makes a great magician great is the other 90%, which is the presentation. So you hit the nail right on the head. Even the trick with the greatest method can fall totally flat with the wrong presentation.
