I'm native khmer in vietnam and I also love Vietnamese food, and my own Khmer food, both are using fresh ingredients, nature ingredients to their food. From what I can see in this clip, except the bánh xèo pancake, other dish has already been served in localized Khmer style. Besides, the Kinh ethnic (Vietnamese) they also love khmer popular dishes such as Phnom Penh noodle soup (hủ tiếu Nam Vang), roasted chicken gà đốt, bok lahong đu đủ đâm... All of these food u can find at Saigon metropolitan.

For example, camerlized pig feet. Chinese, thai, Cambodia, l, Vietnamese have different tastes. Like the fermented lime, Indian has been super dark. Chinese and others anisan have them too. Noodles, we make ours different from you. cambodian have plenty of food with vegetables. If you're cambodian, you'll know. Especially if you live in America, you have access to all ingredients.

As someone of both Vietnamese and Khmer heritage, I can say they’re similar, kind of like how the schnitzel is authentically Austrian, whereas countries like Germany, and Hungary have their own version of the schnitzel. However, Cambodian Banh xeo, banh cuon, and vermicelli noodle bowls are different. Especially the noodle bowls, we like to add the coconut chive sauce which distinguishes the Khmer version from the Vietnamese version. When I visited family in Vietnam they preferred just the fish sauce vinaigrette and no coconut sauce.

A Cambodian told me on this same channel.that becoz there were so many Vietnamese ppl living in Cambodia and bringing the food here. After a long time the Cambodian are so used to the food that they think its Cambodian food. I ask the owner of this channel and they admitted its Vnese cuisine. Many of the food are still being sold by VNese vendors.. or by Cambodian vendors by their original VNese names.

Cambodia and Vietnam have a lot of similarly. There are 12 million Khmers in Southern Vietnam all along the Mekong Delta, like Tra Vinh, Ang Giang, Soc Trang, Can Tho, Vinh Long, and many more provinces in South Vietnam.

My family is from the border between Vietnam and Cambodia and I honestly wouldn’t say it’s authentically Vietnamese nor Cambodian. My family have been eating these types of foods for centuries before the French put a border between the two countries. Vietnamese folks have their own version and Cambodians do as well. I would say they’re similar but distinct.

Oddly enough, I really enjoyed the peanut sauce portion of this video. I thought the sauce looked delicious and watching them pour the sauce over the food was actually so satisfying for me. I've had peanut sauce before and I love it but something about the way theirs looked hit different and for a minute I thought I could smell it 😅 In the end, these ladies did a fantastic job the entire time and were very fast and precise on everything. I never tried a yellow pancake before but after watching this I definitely want to. Here from USA so I really appreciate you sharing these video!! 💯❤

It’s very light egg flour crepe that is savory with meat, and sometimes thread noodles inside, dressed with roasted crushed peanuts light sweet fish sauce. My favorite of the dish are the FRESH greens, salad cucumbers, and herbs on top because when combined, it’s like eating a very satisfying savory salad. My mother used to make this all the time, as a kid I didn’t appreciate it and would want American foods like casseroles or lasagnas, which my mother didn’t know how to make. I can’t believe now as an adult, how much I actually missed the things my mother used to make.

Cambodian street food has similarities to other Asian street food in a sense that they incorporate a lot of herbs, chillies, noodles, so on and so forth. Still want to get my hands on those spring rolls but without the spices. I have very low spice tolerance.

Because they borrow Vietnamese foods (and Chinese foods) from Vietnamese in Cambodia, almost recently but They claiming Vietnamese stealing their foods recipe from Khmer people in Vietnam (Khmer people in Vietnam have very simple foods and different with Vietnamese foods from appearances to taste ). Cambodian have no respect to the original creators and also they downgrade the inventors to their thieves... There is no barriers for them copying Vietnamese dishes, they can, but it is unfortunately, they not also respect to our nation and also accused our people stealing their culture (even almost names of those foods keeping Vietnamese word attending like Lok Lak - Bò Lúc Lắc, Nem - Nem in Vietnamese, Banhchev - Bánh xèo... They pull Vietnamese to level of Barbarous who they believe that could not eat cooked foods.
