@Jake-rv8td15 күн бұрын
I always hear people say, "Gretzky wouldn't have had those numbers if he played today." That may be true, and we will never know. What we do know is that 100s of other players played in "Gretzky's Era," and they didn't put up nearly the same numbers that he did. It's not like he played in that era by himself.

All what yous saying is just excuses. In Gretzky time NHL wasn't the best league in the world like now with all those players from around the world playing in it. And the hockey itself changed , it's harder to score now. When USSR team was winning Canada some of their players were half hockey players and half football players and still they were winning alot out of "professional" Canada team😭 hockey in that time was a joke ..

Both Stastny and Mikita were slovakians but they were born in former Czechoslovakia. Mikita moved to US as a child in the 1940s and Stastny to Canada in the early 80s. Later on Mikita got US citizenship and Stastny got Canadian citizenship. In international level Stastny represented Czechoslovakia, Canada and later on Slovakia. Slovakia become independent country in mid 90s. When Mikita scored his hat tricks he was American. I do not know when Stastny become Canadien but most likely Stastny scored most of his hat tricks as a Canadian. Which flag should be used here? Bondra's father was Slovakian and he was born in Ukraine which was part of Soviet Union back then. Most likely he represented only Slovakia in international level. He may have scored some of his hat tricks as a citizen of Soviet Union / Czechoslovakia / Slovakia. Mogilny, Bure and Ovechkin were born in former Soviet Union. Bure and Mogilny most likely represented both SU and Russia. Ovechkin is younger and has only represented Russia in international level. There is a Russian flag for them.
