I just love these obscure ghost stories from small towns

I absolutely love the history of some of these towns in East Texas. If you're interested and haven't checked it out already, look into Nacogdoches. It's considered the oldest incorporated town in Texas, had many prominent individuals and powerful people live or visit their in the 1800s. Quite a few of the buildings are considered "haunted" as well.

I’m going in a few weeks for a weekend getaway. If you have any suggestions on bars, restaurants, museums and cool streets with historic homes. I would appreciate it. Thanks

@@highjinxwillie62 you definitely have to go on the ghost walk, Jody Breckenridge is the tour guide, you meet on the corner by the coffee shop downtown that used to be a morgue. (She will fill you in!) The Jefferson Hotel is right across the street where many paranormal teams visit. The Grove is a must see also, the 3rd most haunted house in the U.S., Mitchell Whitington is the owner and he does tours twice a day. The museum is up the street also with cool old things, and haunted! Lol There is a boat ride right across the bridge over the bayou and also a train ride. The train ride will take you down to the gators. Be sure to go to Kits Kornbread for some really good southern food and Bulldog pizza, Italian owned. Everything is centrally located and within a mile radius. Wear comfortable shoes lol, you will feel like your stepping back in time!

I stayed at Diamond Bessies home in 2019; during the HHL event. I felt a heavy presence when I went to bed. I was awakened by something pulling the blankets off of me. I pulled the blanket back up. I laid there and watched them be pulled down a second time. Then I heard a growl. Really freaky. I’m staying at the Jefferson in November for the HHL event! I’m super excited.

Diamond Bessie didn’t have a home in Jefferson. The place where she and Abe Rothschild stayed while in Jefferson is no longer there.

Steven King woke up and a child asked him if he was ready for breakfast. The child was a spirit. That is why he and his crew left quickly

If you are standing facing Diamond Bessies tombstone and look at the upper right hand side of it, you can see what appears to be a face. Pareidolia or paranormal? Who knows

Is there any proof of Steven actually staying there? I cannot find anywhere on the internet that he actually stayed there other than what people say. I think it's nothing more than a exaggerated claim. I don't believe it happened I think it was made up a long time ago and still a on-going spooky story to tell. Jefferson seems to take pride in the Steven story but have no way of backing the story up. Again, I believe it's nothing more than just a story. Until I hear aduio of him confirming or an old interview I will not believe this tale.

It doesn't matter what u believe.nobody doesn't have to prove anything to U.so take your comment,turn it sideways and stick it up your candy ass
@DevilTX664 жыл бұрын
Jeff Coronado well I guess you are ok to not have factual history. He is right. They have the sign in of many names but Stevens name isn’t there. So Jefferson is banking on something that cannot be proven factual. That is a problem. So if that is not true what else are they not being factual about?

@@jeffcoronado2526 If ya SMELLLLLLLLLLL.... Shut the fuck up dope. It's not true don't get all pissy because yalls one horse town makes profit off a exaggerated false claim.
@thatgirlintexas58823 жыл бұрын
Wow! I’m pretty sure Jefferson City isn’t trying to bank on the Steven story...there is so much history in this town & a gorgeous place to visit & that is what attracts people to visit. I can’t imagine who would come here just because of Steven Spielberg supposedly staying in a hotel. How about going there yourself & seeing the history with your own eyes! I usually don’t even waste time on commenting back on other ridiculous comments but this one was worth it!
