The Immaculate Reception is considered by many to be the greatest NFL play of all time. For the Steelers, it quite literally marked the definite turning point for the franchise. Before that play, the Steelers were among the worst teams of the NFL, having never won a playoff game. After that play, the Steelers have won more games, playoff or regular season, and have won more championships than any other team in the league.

Aiden Brown I don't know, I think we're forgetting some iconic FGs that started the Dynasty. Sure, this is the House that Brady Built, but it sits on the rock-solid foundation of Vinatieri's foot. I would point to the Tuck Rule game or Super Bowl XXXVI.
@maninredhelm7 жыл бұрын
I'd have chosen Butler as the most iconic moment too. The comeback against the Falcons was incredible, but it wasn't a moment, it was a long series of events. A Vinatieri kick would also qualify, but let's face it, goalline interceptions are cooler than field goals, even in the snow.

i'm not a giants fan or an Odell fan, but how could his insane one handed catch not be on there for them. best catch i've ever seen. i worked at a bar for a guy that was a huge giants fan that year, he wouldn't shut up about it, but although I hated to admit anything he liked was good. working in a sports bar, i had that constant reminder by him, and I had to give it to odell, that was unbelievable
@WTDProductions7 жыл бұрын
+jeremy broadwater it was a great catch, yes. but it's not even in the same conversation as david tyree. first, manning somehow escapes a sack, throws up a pass, and tyree (who i believe hardly caught a pass before that) makes a catch pinning it to his helmet. setting up the TD. a catch to help win the SUPER BOWL vs an undefeated team >> a great regular season catch
@jeremybroadwater38327 жыл бұрын
i see your point completely, like i said i'm not a big giants fan and didn't realize the backstory to that. was just comparing the two catches visully i guess. i never played football so i can't honestly compare the difficulty of his catch either. just that beckham not only made the catch one handed but did it at that angle and pretty much fully stretched out, reaching not just extended at that angle but also fouled on the play. but with that backstory and where it led the franchise to at the end of that year I see the arguement
@WTDProductions7 жыл бұрын
+jeremy broadwater yeah for a catch alone beckhams is maybe better, but the game and the significance, tyree's catch will be one of the most famous in super bowl history

Colts fan here, and the Marlin Jackson pick was the perfect choice. There weren't any moments that were quite as iconic in the actual SB, except Kelvin Hayden's INT return for a TD, but that moment in the AFC title game was truly special. The Patriots had owned us in previous years, and had knocked us out of the playoffs in '03 and '04. He beat them in the regular season in '05 and '06, both at Foxboro, but I was still very nervous about this game because the stakes were much higher, and Brady and Belichick had owned us in the playoffs. Going down 21-3 early felt like fulfilling a prophecy, confirming that we'd always be second-best, but that entire comeback was totally euphoric. Joseph Addai's go-ahead TD was an amazing moment, but then we had to give the ball back to Brady, and we all still had our hearts in our throats. The INT is when we finally believed we'd done it. No disrespect to the Bears, but we knew we'd won the SB on that play. Marlin Jackson was a pretty insignificant player in Colts history, but I'll never forget his name, never forget that call.

I remember that play, of course, because it was a massive coverage mistake by the Bears that left him wide open, and that score got us in the game. But like I said, the play I remember most from that game is the Hayden INT return, because that's when we knew we'd won. It was the first and only time in the game that we were ahead by more than one score. Actually, the play from that game I probably remember most vividly is the opening kickoff. I was screaming at my TV "DON'T KICK TO HESTER", and then we did, and then Hester did his thing. That was such a weird, crazy game, especially because of the rain.

Cristos Ortega that game was not rigged and if it was it was the falcons that rigged it cause the falcons had so many opportunities to win that game

I was expecting either the Immaculate Reception or the Santonio Holmes catch in the end zone and now I'm satisfied.

As a texans fan, I gotta say.... WAY MORE MEMORABLE MOMENT was when JJ Watt became the 1st player to get 20 sacks in a season more than once, and his 20th sack was for his first career safety.. That shit gave me chills in real time. You knew bortles had no chance against watt.

Great video... Its close but the Colts play has to be the Kelvin Hayden pick 6 in the Super Bowl, just a game after the Jackson pick
