It is incredibly helpful early already! The power a lucky craft generates early is insane. Late game you produce GG items regularly.

so since you can't really farm glyphs/runes till the endgame then you can't really craft (much) leveling up? I'm like out of hope/chaos as this point and barely any runes at lvl 38.

You are not supposed to use chaos and hopes at 38 on pieces you replace 1h later.
