Forget the escapes, I want to know how someone was able to have an accordion in Alcatraz, and how he was able to play it without being ended by the other prisoners.

The worst part of prison is boredom, im sure the other people would've liked to have entertainment for once
@Michael7557911 ай бұрын
It's entirely possible that the Alcatraz escapers made it to shore. MythBusters built a replica boat and successfully made the trip, and there are insane people who regularly swim from Alcatraz to the St Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco. The latter would be difficult without some training and support, but not impossible.

Best escape ever happened 5 blocks away from my home, when I was little. This bank robber, explosive expert, long time crook named "Gordo valor" simply made a rope out of fabric in order to jump out prison. But he was being looked everywhere, having the entire neighbourhood militarized for like a month or so. He was never seen anywhere. It turned out he had a cargo truck parked 2 blocks away from prison. On the interior of the cargo bay he had food, tv, a fine bed, frigobar and everything you could expect. About three weeks later he came out of the cargo truck, dressed as a fine gentlemen and simply pass by walking the police. It seems like the best hideout is to be precissely where you are expected to be

You should do a story on Steven Jay Russell. He was a con man and an escape artist from prisons. A movie, though probably exaggerated about him was made, I love you, Philip Morris. He made several escapes from jails and prisons and even faked his own death. I have always wondered about this man that escaped prison in California. He needed to go to administration and to make the trip a guard called the Administration building and let them know he was coming. If he didn't arrive in so many minutes, they would start looking for him. The action was repeated when he was to back from Administration. One trip, he left Administration. In order to get to and from the Administration building he had to cross a Salle Port. He didn't arrive back to his cell block and a search began. No trace could be found. The theories were it was noticed that a series of bricks and stones stuck out from the wall and the man might have been able to walk up them like a staircase and drop over the fence. The second theory is he was shown to have signed out of Administration at the same time a garbage truck was being cleared in the Salle Port. The thought is he walked out of the building the same time the truck was leaving, and he simply climbed into the back of the truck. Last I heard, many years ago, they were still looking for him.

I was lucky enough to go to a small event with 3 of the men who were involved in "the great escape" from Long Kesh prison in Northern Ireland. Parkhurst on the Isle of Wight, not Pinehurst. Trying to get off the island is a nightmare for islanders who want off, if they were to try to cross the water they would end up in either The Channel or The Atlantic. And the bit of water between the island and Portsmouth/Southampton is one of the busiest in the world. They definitely aimed high. But it’s not the only escape from Parkhurst. There’s been a long list of some of Britain’s most famous criminals, Reggie Kray spent some time there,as did the Yorkshire Ripper, The Moors Murderer Peter Brady, and Britain’s most violent prisoner Charles Bronson. Our prisoners and rock festivals are what we are best known for down here.
@martindunstan804311 ай бұрын
It's pretty straight forward for the law abiding to get off the island with many options available. Options for escaped prisoners would certainly require better planning.
@Gloomcookie968 ай бұрын
That's Ian Brady. Peter Brady is Brady Bunch.
@lillipupsmum88208 ай бұрын
@@martindunstan8043 yes it is easy for the law abiding citizens down here. But you do need to take out a 2nd mortgage to get the ferry. Especially in the summer. The ferry companies do send out vouchers to every islander every year. Which helps a little. And, yes the car ferry staff would notice if someone wearing a prisoner’s uniform tried to board. I would hope. Tbh the Brady Bunch always gave me the creeps so that could have caused some of my confusion. And the fact I am absolutely useless with names. Even infamous ones like that.
