@@dadadunlol6079 if you could understand what I said there would be no need for your response; there is no other species that is destroying the planet earth. No other species has ever caused mass extinctions yet alone multiple mass extinctions. Equally no other species has a brain capacity even remotely close to ours. For all our fantastic achievements they come at the expense of the planet the majority of the time; either through mineral exploitation, destruction of habits and ecosystems that are beneficial to all species and the health of the planet (over fishing, deforestation, the removal of species that are critical in healthy food chains, pollution etc). So when we invent these great technologies we seldomly foresee the detrimental impacts they will cause. When we (humans) know we have made a disastrous decision we often ignore the solution which would inevitably come at our immediate expense. This is why I would believe we are short sighted.

@@calebspain4828 I find it funny how humans are the ones who say things like 'destroying the planet' etc. Like humans have the right to decide what is good and what is wrong for the planet. Humans are the ones putting labels on things, the way they like it. Let me clarify I do not intend to say we aren't killing off species, destroying habitats etc. But who are we to say what's right and what's wrong. Again again, don't get me wrong I am also part of the group of people who think more species habitats etc equals better. But it just made me wonder, who are we to say what's right for the planet. The planet itself creates vulcanos that destroy everything. Create ice ages etc. Who are we to say what is the right thing. No one, so don't be so arrogant please.

Nicola king it’s not cruel, actually in the wild they would chose a slightly damp empty cave in the mountain, small space gives them sense of safety, and they don’t need any bed nor do they try to make one out of branches. For this panda, keepers need to clear all the things in this small room to make sure they can see the cub from the cctv once it was born, since sometimes, mother panda would kill one cub out of 2 and there are chances the cub is not in good condition so the intervention must be taken ASAP. I believe this was an rare exception for Meimei, who had several cubs and 2 sets of twins during her time in Japan. She was often mentioned in media as a 'great mother' due to her being able to nurse both cubs at the same time. I think part of it comes from having prior cubs and motherhood experience. In the wild Panda will abandon one out of natural instincts as they know they won't have enough nutrients to keep both alive.
@sheilaghbrosky5 жыл бұрын
It is not unusual for a panda to have twins in the wild. However, the mom can't look after 2 cubs in the wild. It must be a development to preserve the species as the panda has a short esterus once a year.In captivity, twins are frequently born due to invetro fertilization. The twins are swapped out every 4 hrs so that each cub gets mother's milk and the antibodies. This is usually done for at least 2 months I believe. Then both cubs are given to mum to nurse. A few years ago, triplets were born in China and all survived.
