I once nearly died in a pharmacy during the year 2019 near st john school while taking saline, the pharmacist was adding so many meds in my saline, i was facing breathing problem, from that day on, i don’t visit pharmacies. And these days whats scary is all those young nurses and helpers in private hospitals, man they are scarier than ghosts !!

90% of the pharmacies run in nagaland is run by unqualified people who have barely even passed grade 10. I don't understand how this is allowed. This has always been a big concern. No doctor or no underqualified person has the actual right to run a retail pharmacy or get a pharmacy license under pharmacy Act 1948 & also under Drugs and cosmetics act 1940 & rules 1945. It is such a good thing that this is being brought to light by hornbill tv. Please pursue this case further on.

The department should continue checking whether all chemists are eligible to operate or not. I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but personally, I’ve seen people with no experience working in chemists, and before long, they start opening their own. If the department keeps up the inspections, more of these cases will likely come to light.

Why do we need Registered Pharmacist in dispensing medicines? Let's be brief n logistic, it is the duty of a pharmacist to dispense, rectify, quality checking, drug adulteration, etc. before giving out to patient. Sometimes the medicines prescribed by a medical practitioner may have drug- food interaction, drug-drug interaction, etc which may cause serious health problems. Therefore, well trained registered pharmacist should review/ regulate the prescribed medicines and refered back to the concerned prescriber for the efficacy n health benefits. Whereas some doctors prescribed so medicines that a pharmacist need to consult n counseling the patient when n how or where it is necessary to take the medicine according to required dosage amount. More to say about pharmacist duty..but thank you all🙏

Funny that most of the pharmacists in Nagaland are trained by their doctors. I request to All the concerned officers who are in charge of licence authority to stop this practice and cancel all the PHARMACY run by an unqualified person and booked under accounting to the pharmacy act. Under section 42 pharmacy act 1948 says no person other than a registered pharmacist shall compound, prepare, mix or dispense any medicine on the prescription of a medical practitioner According to the Pharmacy Act in India, an MBBS doctor cannot directly open a pharmacy and operate it themselves; they must employ a registered pharmacist to manage the dispensing of medicines as it is considered a conflict of interest and unethical for a doctor to directly sell medications from their own pharmacy.
