Why does practically every researcher believe ancient civilizations spent their lives mostly worshipping something or preparing for death? Seriously?
@thehowlingjoker3 жыл бұрын
They were incredibly ignorant. They would attribute illness and natural phenomena to angry spirits and gods. If you believed that earthquakes were caused by a great underground serpent moving in its sleep, you were pretty much ready to do all sorts of kooky shit.

@@keirfarnum6811 haven't you heard about the Varangian Guards? They were the toughest most ferocious fighters of the Vikings & were the personal guard of the Emperor Constantine of, obviously, Constantinople which is on the Bospherus Sea which opens on to The Mediterranean, which has to be sailed to get through to Constantinople. Archeologists have even found Viking artifacts in ancient places Up & down the Nile, in the Holy Land & theres even speculation that the Vikings sailed as far as China, as burials in the Taklamakan Desert were of Caucasian males, red or fair haired, some were even buried in Tartan cloth! Ok maybe not Viking but maybe they traded wth The Scots in earlier times I'm only going off what I've learned about how the Vikings were such prolific sailors & ventured to places we find hard to believe yet Viking artifacts & burials have been found there.

It's art, not symbolic but in the meaning, the owner derives. Like all art. Art like this tells a story. Note where their gazes are directed. I'll line them up for you here and explain what I believe to be this vases message or (art): 0:46 Starting with the snake, the snake's gaze is directed at the women, a look of disgust, anger, or other general negativity apparent. The snake symbolizes a guardian spirit. You follow from the snake to the woman, you see her eyes land on the male to the left., but the male to the left is following cupid it seems, ignorant of her touch or gaze. Instead, his eyes are locked onto another at the other end of this relief. The other appears to be an older man who is locking gaze with him as well. It's simple, this depicts homosexuality and a ruined relationship. The snake wears such a grim expression because it is a guardian spirit that does not know how to guard their charge against this issue. The woman loves the man, and the man loves the other man, could you imagine how this might make her feel when she finally realizes it? In ancient Rome, marriage wasn't a thing. Marriage in Roman times was often not at all romantic. Rather, it was an agreement between families. So monogamy wasn't practiced all that much...to put very bluntly, Romans had sex with whoever they feel like. Greeks too...no one judged. 0:58 On the next side, we have the same woman presumably, but she looks disenchanted. I would presume this is a public bathhouse. If you follow gazes again you will notice the man to the left is looking at her in no particular way. It's where his eyes are locked that is important, we know it even now in our culture. So we understand the reason he stairs. However, you look across to the right and there is another female...and she looks pissed lol. Bro...better quit staring and leave the heartbroken lady alone, her friend over there knows she went through a breakthrough, and she's pissed you won't just boink her instead. Be it greek or roman. This vase illustrates love and lust. Two of the oldest human concepts. 8:55 Love how this channel dismisses any possibility of an ancient advanced culture but will be happy to tell you about negatively charged voodoo artifacts. You can't buy into voodoo and tell me we where primitive hunter-gatherers after the younger dryas but before the 8200-year event were just banging rocks together. Wouldn't have survived. The planet's ecosystem was in ruins. School has been out for a while, do some research before you release a video, and don't consult Smithsonian. PS Seapeople's where obviously ancient Vikings.
