For those who are worried, the majority of these aren't that bad, as long as you live in a developed country. There is also treatment for the majority of these parasites. And most of the time, you won't just wake up with a parasite in you, usually you would have had to do something to get it inside of you.

And don't forget that the human botfly is actually completely painless and harmless and even has beneficial effects. The only reason it's so dreaded is because if it accidentally hits a nerve it's extremely painful, and because most people just don't like the idea of other organisms living inside them. And if you really want to remove it, there are plenty of easy and painless methods that you can perform at home

for pin worms (my experiece) just spred some vicks (medication) to prevent annoyance it will prevent it as it becomes slippery enough for the pin worms to not annoy you and they will probably die cuz they cant eat you either (yes im 13 and i know dis)

when you were talking about round worms, it reminded me of something i done yesterday. I captured a round worm that was next to an ant colony and asked my friend what it was (at the time i didn't know it was a parasite), and he said it was a parasite, so i chopped its head off and it died.

Remember the cable (and satellite) show, "Monsters Inside Me"? They covered most of these and the people who suffered from one or more of them, all the while their primary doctors as well as some specialists were clueless. Many suffered for years.

Ummm, well, been thinking about thr way my deceased mother used to tell us boys, to not come in from the streets and not wash our hands before touching or eating food. I'm 58 this year, and Mom has been gone since 2010. But get this: Walmart opened near where I live in 2015. Because they beat the competition, more and more folks go there. They walk right into the front, begin touching the produce, testing by hand for freshness, touching all the boxes, touching the handles to all the doors, touching the shopping carts, the baskets, touching the boxes, and more. Well, as I recall, that was Summer, 2015, but by April, 2016, seems that I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, some homepathic doctors are saying, that is caused, due all of their patients that are FILLED with Parasites. Each and Every One of Them. But what do I know..🤔 Thank you. 😮❤❤❤

Can confirm about bed bugs. I had a bad reaction: itching so intense and long lasting that I had to get on oral steroids to finally get it under control. It’s like the itchiness you feel right after a mosquito bite, but it doesn’t go away. Thankfully got them on the first extermination but it was awful. Glad I documented it and found a lawyer that got me some compensation.

For those curious, it can take hours to days to remove adult guinea worms due to the parasite’s fragile nature. If removed too quickly, the worm will break and cause devastating infection. Once broken, the odds of removing the rest of the worm plummet. The body doesn’t take it well.

The are quite treatable, and most infections are very mild(to avoid alerting the host). However the effective medication is not widely available, nor really affordable in the west, so many people have them without knowing. Its quite common for people with them to eat large meals, and lots of sugary food. If you need the treatment, look at how asian countries(including developed ones-who have those tiny meals) handle this issue with an annual anti parasitic pill. Perhaps best to discuss this with public health officials who tend to overlook the causes of the obesity epidemic (which is rooted partially in parasitic infections, and the widespread availability of food).

Last February i went to the er i had something in my ears that felt with tweezers, like the filter part of a cigarette and it was firmly holding on to tissue, i thought it was proglotids, the hospital told me i had ear mites and gave me ear drops and told me not to worry, 2 months later i started getting feeling of movement in my neck going up to my ears like i would feel it slithering, again they said dont worry its mites and it would clear up on its own, Now, im honestly scared of how bad it got i suspect its taenasis since i feel movement under my skin its really bad and all it wouldve took was anti parasite medication and it wouldnt have got to this point, when i told the hospital my symptoms and what i suspect it to be they looked at me like i was crazy and even asked me if i had a history mental health, smh idk what to do, i have a appointment tomorrow and i cant wait to see what they say and im even embarrassed/ashamed of what it may be but the 2 trips to the er revealed nothing they didn't prescribe any special medicine and i was in and out within a hour and each visit they billed me 1700 i didn't have insurance nor did i have the money to just pay it off right there so the medicine they prescribed they couldn't give it to me until i paid or got insurance, it took 2 months to get insurance and yea its good but still they didnt prescribe medication that wouldve probably treated it without any problems, on top of that the RNs that seen me both times were rude and just nasty AF, the first time i actually told him like you want to say anything with me being present? Cuz he was just talking ish thinking i couldn't hear what he was saying and just smirking like is that the level of professionalism nyc coney Island hospital has? And you know he folded like a beach chair cuz they're really 😺 and overpaid and overrated, the second time she asked me if i had mental health issues lol, so obviously after that psychologically like i lost faith in going to hospitals cuz everyone i came across was a pos, then i went to Langone made a appointment with a "specialist" and all i can say is he can specialize these nuts, arrogant rude like he was doing me a favor even like seeing me and this was after i got insurance and im sure they charged my insurance at least 3 grand maybe? But yea dude didn't treat anything, so yea, when it comes to parasites they ignore it to the fullest, this is what happens when you let in millions of ppl from tropical countries (where parasites thrive) in without doing any kind of health checks especially in big cities like NYC where the subways are right now are infested with every kind if germs parasites airborne diseases etc.
