Methodology
1) I gathered data from myanimelist.net/character.php . The .csv files containing search interest values were downloaded from Google Trends for every character.
2) Ammount Search Tool determined the average monthly search volume for every character.
3) The number of searches per month for each calendar year were proportioned based on official reports from Google.
4) Data modeling through an algorithm invented by me to obtain the most realistic data possible.
5) Search interest values and proportioned monthly search volumes were placed in Excel for calculations.
6) The data was placed into Flourish Studio to create the data visualization piece.
7) Image and audio assets were added with Wondershare Filmora.

I am a Korean fan. Levi is overwhelmingly popular among Aot characters in our country. I think everyone liked Levi until season 3, but after season 4, there seem to be a lot of comments comparing it to Eren. They are both my favorite characters, but why are there more comments that criticize each other by comparing them? I don't think Levi is overrated, nor does Eren. Is there any particular reason why the situation is like this?

this is why I didn't enjoy season 4 as much as I enjoyed the first 3 seasons. Levi was always the strongest person, someone who could beat titans and any other human enemy, even though he had no special powers like eren. and he was handsome too. But then for season 4 they had to cripple Levi in order to give spotlight to Eren. and they completely changed erens character design, with new hair style and all that, eventhough most of the other characters had the exact same features as they had when they were kids. its like the creators were FORCING people to start loving Eren the main character instead of captain Levi. and people started to make fun of Levis short height or his age, something which never happened before season 4! its sad. 😢that's why I believe Levi is always the best aot character and deserve #1 but fans keep shit talking him for no reason !

I remember the manga leaks dropping during first period statistics in my senior year. Thanks to the cliffhanger of the previous chapter, we all knew it was coming. The leaks ended up being later than usual that day; it was absolutely chaos. We all kind of figured it was Obito for a while but...oh boy. It's really interesting how you can tell an anime is going through a big arc or plot twist by how the characters go up in popularity. For example, ATTACK ON TITAN SPOILERS AHEAD (I'm using this anime specifically bc I just finished watching it so I'm familiar with the arcs and twists.) Sasha has a sudden spike in popularity in February of 2021, which was around the same time the episode she died in was released. Eren is at the top of the list in January of 2022 which is when he is working with Zeke, right before the Rumbling happens in February of 2022. In April of 2013 there is a huge spike in interest of Mikasa and Eren (poor Armin) which is also when the anime first aired. Now I am not certain on the exact air dates of everything, but based on assumption, when Annie skyrockets to the top I can guess that was probably around the time she was revealed to be the Female Titan. Also, when Levi takes the number 1 spot, I'm guessing that is probably around the time he started becoming more of a fleshed-out character that people enjoyed.
