O filme tem seus defeitos, mas não acho que esses defeitos sejam ser um musical, ou o princípio de desconstruir o coringa em vez de transforma-lo num grande criminoso psicopata como muitos esperavam (e não culpo quem esperava isso, realmente isso foi vendido pelo marketing). Os defeitos do filme são: estender o final mais do que deveria e bater na mesma tecla diversas vezes no filme o deixando previsível e redundante em alguns momentos. Porém, na minha opinião, se olhar para o primeiro filme sem o fator surpresa que foi na época, ele apresenta os mesmo defeitos, estende o ato final, deixando mais longo do que deveria, assim como também passa o filme inteiro mostrando o quanto o arthur é maltratado pela sociedade, repetindo o mesmo princípio redundante, até nos dar o final previsível de rebelião. Tecnicamente, ambos filmes também são semelhantes em questão de direção, fotografia e etc. Meu ponto é que o segundo filme está quase no nível do primeiro, com seus acertos e erros, e o primeiro é um filme mediano para bom, o que faz desse filme também mediano para bom. O problema é que eu acho que as pessoas estão criticando o filme pelo fator errado, e um desses fatores é a comparação com primeiro, e ai que entra o erro de comparação, os filmes tem competências parecidas, a única coisa que muda é que no primeiro há um acensão de um cara fodão maldoso o que geralmente deve empolgar o grande público, e no segundo a decadência, que por sinal, é muito mais verosímil psicologicamente com o personagem, ao meu ver, do que ele se tornasse o cara fodão assassino ainda mais mal que no primeiro filme.
