Try the same but with electric whip (+60% to a bleeding target). Hand of the king does only one attack after his uppercut and dies. Monsters in astrolab die instantly.

Ok so I used this dual bind build with that weapons, although i used different skills( crusher and toxic cloud). I played in 3BC in normal mode. Using Barbed tips, point blank and disengagement for the mutations set. Thanks to that I managed to beat 3BC and I got the achievement for no hitting the Scarecrow. Build is super effective just as Pseychie says. I hope the devs won’t nerf barbed tips xD

I know another good barbed wire build Its this heavy crossbow needs to have more damage to bleeding or rooted enemies or both wolf trap knife dance boomerang also needs the more damage to bleeding or rooted enemies put in the backpack mutations barbed tip (duh) Acrobatipack support this is the build that got me to 3bc

Saw this video and went and got barbed tips immediately as soon as I was able to get home and play just so I could try this build out and holy shit is it insane. Running 5BC and just melting through enemies like they're not even there. Definitely agree that the build is a bit dicey earlier on but once you get barbed tips into the mix and start pumping up that tactics stat the tables turn completely. Gonna play around w/this more later tonight...maybe I'll finally beat the final boss for the first time...feelin good about it lol. Edit: Tesla Coil is my favorite trap hands down...fell in love w/that as soon as I got it.

whilst the shorter video format is a useful thing, and i can see the reason for it existing, I personally prefer either unedited runs or what the original format was, that way you could see a large variety of different skill sets and skill ceilings, where as you could be going for a hokuto's build, you could see gameplay with a heavy crossbow that introduces new variables and playstyles, showing how different each run truly is as well as how fast a run can change said playstyles, but, if it works for you, do what you want, I just want to put in my opinion for the fact that all views on these subjects are all equally as important to consider

I did find Multiple nocks bow synergy immediately, and a more busted build. Btw I Didn't Dual Bind, but played Multiple Nocks + Thunder Shield, Flamethrower Turret and Tesla Coil, with mutations: Barbed tips, Point Blank Shot and Support. SPOILERS AHEAD: Melted 5BC spoiler boss so hard he dropped the Panacea on 1st stage, drank it, got into scene transition and immediately died. Took like 20 seconds. By far the most busted kill I ever did. Both turrets had poison cloud + poison damage, Bow had XII quality and 80% poison and 60% bleed, shield had bleed on parry, and got there with a high scroll count. yeah, barbed tips seems to break the 5bc fight. I tried to get bonus bleeding damage on the multiple nocks, didn't get it unfortunately. Your run sounds so busted XD. Now I kinda want to try that as well.

Instead of tesla you should use a fire grenade that has "returns arrows stuck in enemys" and on the bow and throwing dagger you should have more damage on burning enemys for the fire grenade to stack with the ranged weapons.

I think Hokutos bow now has a cool down on its effect. Still works well, but balanced now.

what I find a bit strange is that when playing a game the challenge is to be challenged and then beat an NPC with as little health loss as possible, the reward you get as a player is often more powerful weapons, more energy, etc. this often means that defeating NPCs is getting easier and battles are less and less of a challenge. I think original gameplay mechanics are necessary to keep gaming interesting, this does not apply to Dead Cells, but an overly powered character can take away the challenge.

Daaamn thats powerful. My best collector fight that ive calculated was 1m 0s, with a dual bind snake fangs and blood sword. That build is kind of a monster on its own and the run was even more broken, since I had both burning oil synergy and bleed/poison cross synergy, on top of corrupted power, on top of lv12 gear, on top of 38 stats in brutality. And you melted the collector in about half the time, subtracting for the time he spends healing. Admittedly you did get the cheese on the third heal, and i believe this is caused by dealing damage as he is healing (since he healed above and then dropped below the final heal threshold in under a second, making him drop the flask). But still this is stupidly overpowered, even if after a certain point damage doesn't really matter any more :D This is just a theorised build, but i might play around with these weapons and mutations and see if anything comes of it, and i figured id share them here. Shrapnel axes is the first one, replacing the multiple knocks bow. The raw damage is just higher (i believe), and i think it fires more projectiles faster (on average, and assuming they work with barbed tips). Another one to try would be kill rhythm, which is just a flat 15% buff to all damage for dual bind builds, and sometimes makes them play a bit better as well. Sonic carbine and repeater crossbow are ones to play around with as well, as I feel like if you could use kill rhythm to reduce the animation speed enough, you might achieve instant fire rate (this would be hard but it might be possible in some specialised builds, and worth investigating). Also networking, which i believe is still a thing, might be even more broken with such a high damage build, especially since the two mutations rely on the same gameplay mechanic. Either way really interesting video, even if barbed tips is getting nerfed into oblivion in the next update/patch :)

I came into the collector fight with a build like this 34 tactics 4 brut 5 surv multinocks bow legendary quick bow flamethrower turret+ heavy turret backpack hokuto's acrobatipack, support, barbed tips dps was so high that I got him to drop the panacea before he even left the first room

I've made it to the Astrolabs a bunch of times using guides from videos such as these, but I'm only at around 5/25/6 stats at that point. That includes necklaces. How do you get 33+? Is that why players take the Prison Depths / Sepulcher route? I'm just clearing out each level to pick up every scroll I can, including cursed chests and challenge rooms. Am I just having bad luck or am I missing something?

is the piercing affix on your bow actually removing the damage of barbed tips mutation from single target fight? because the arrow head is not on the single target, it gets right through it.

I’m not sure how it interacts with piercing, but from experience it seems a “copy” of the arrows get stuck on enemies that got pierced by it, so I assume it actually works
