There are so many copy/paste survival games. Hell I was developing my own but the market is saturated with them. They all seem to use the same Unity plugins and concepts with the exception of a few minor unique items. Sadly this kind of youtube let's play videos that promote rather than critique and expose this trend only serve to further these issues. Interestingly many of these micro-indie developers receive IP cease and desist orders from those (Endlight Games LTD [The Forrest], The Fun Pimps [7 Days to Die] to name a couple) companies who established the original concepts, often forcing developers of these knock-off games to rethink their concepts. This does not effect their ability to continue to receive crowd funding, which as you pointed out, is often their true motivation. Just my opinion.

You can make a grind stone to sharpen the axe. The "damage" you were looking at is what it does, the durability is indicated by the wrench icon. :)

Also, it's a really good idea to follow the to-do list, especially the first time around. I really like this game, have been playing it for a while, and they have added a whole lot of things in. I remember when i first started to play and it had just a handful of things to do. Really excited to see you play this, hope you'll keep going. :)

Kage the little wrench image indicates the durability. If you make the grinding wheel you can repair some of the tools. Also you can sleep through the night if you make the bed. Keep it up buddy YOU ROCK!!!

Kage, You should check out a game called Stars End. Still very early access and a bit buggy at times but it's got a unique feel. Kinda cowboys and aliens in space. One minute you're riding a horse and shooting a bow, next you're flying a space ship mining asteroids. Pretty decent devs as well, they seem to be working hard on it. I know you like the EA stuff.

Kage848 - Thanks. Because of you, I now have another addiction! LOL. I had never heard of this game until I came across you videos. I love it. It's like the ultimate crafting game. I've discovered that you can break flat stones down into Jagged rock (M), and continue break those down into small jagged rocks. My main problem now, i'm lost. I can't find where I built my base! If dropped/placed items don't decay, I'll have to start leaving trail markers and bread crumbs.

This looks like it has a lot of promise. Keep the episodes coming! I hope they replace the floating question marks with some other system (journal?). Edit: Went to Steam to look at the reviews. They were mixed but after reading the negatives most of them were nitpicky or they didn't understand what a survival crafting game is: Bad controller support Took too long to progress No map, world too big, not enough tutorial Blah blah blah. Haven't seen any negative reviews that are pertinent.

What I wish to see in a game like this, you could join a community, a village, work together, build together, have a family. Something more than just you and the wolves.

Its got good promise, it seems like a crossover between ark and rust almost. But, the crafting is very clunky. Feels like it would be chaotic if it was multiplayer since you cant even hold on to things. There should be a way to queue crafting, and things need to stack, its just not practical in a game for things not to stack. Great Video!

the damage you are looking is the damage the axe does. the health of objects is the wrench icon. if its empty its broke. use the hammer to repair stations. the sharpening stone wheel repairs an axe. q and e rotate.

Hey Kage...there are bandits or pirates that will come and attack you once you have a settlement...however the game has a few issues that the developer acknowledged in discord. He got another developer in and has been busy rewriting the core of the game the last couple of months....dedi server is also broken, but I really enjoy what is there so far and am looking forward to the stable version as it has a lot of potential

I've seen some one play this before but I can't remember who. It was quite a while ago. Looks like they haven't fixed the stacking issue, and the crafting isn't very intuitive at all. If you are enjoying it, I'll watch again just to see what's changed.

I started playing yesterday or day before because of your playthrough and I really like the game so far took me forever to find the ore mine so I flipped back to an earlier video of yours from this season and found it got me a sledgehammer started a wall since I took the massive bandit camp on like day 10 and found Scott inside.

I do like realistic. What makes this the most realistic one? The Koreans or Chinese would so ruin this game, or didn't even figure out how to do one. You would hit a tree with a stone axe, there woulld be a big explosion with fireworks and rainbows, and if you run, there would be some air currents or magical dust left behind you (because you are sooo magical and/or fast) and of course you would have wings.

I own and have been playing it. Its insanely hard. Lol. But it’s a lot of fun. Though I am stuck on one my quests. Lol. So I have been making other things. I do want to start building a house. You need to make a bed to sleep during the night. You can upgrade your work bench to unlock more stuff.
