I hate the bit where they're like 'her hymen is intact so she's a virgin', cause it clearly indicates that the writers don't know how vaginas and hymens work...
@sarahneuren70576 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing, but then I realized something. This is taken completely out of context. The results they were looking at were probably from an exam that was done right after the supposed rape. She probably told them she was a virgin before she was raped. Therefore, if she had been raped and the exam was done in the following hours, her hymen would have been torn. That's how they knew she was lying, because there was no tearing, which means there was no rape. I think that is probably what they were going for.

- Stuckey killing O'Halloran in "Zebras" was definitely shocking. Stuckey's character was a bit 'spacy' & off-centre at times( like when he actually got excited over the discovery of an infant found buried and Stabler angrily said to him 'What the hell is the matter with you?!" because Stuckey was way too excited and hyper for a rather sombre and tragic discovery ), but few could've imagined he'd snap in "Zebras" and murder 3 people....out of revenge for being called out publicly in court for mishandling evidence that forced them to release a suspect charged with murder.

@@ckendall67 It's funny. Watching the show so much makes you realize all the signs he showed ° he was often over excited for generally morbid findings when others were professional or shaken, like when he was happy finding a corpse and even called the media to try to suck up to the detectives. Only one example of his sociopathy °the first thing he mentions when introduced is how he's going to make it big someday, suggesting he mainly cares about himself and not others °he was constantly insulted by everyone from the detectives (stabler mostly) to his fellow CSU (O'halloren) and when he actually messed up, it gave all their claims meaning and increased the level of insults at him, causing a final snap In hindsight it was so obvious, yet I thought they'd reveal that he didn't make any mistake and it some grander scheme

It's interesting that it's not until confronted that Benson really stops and thinks about the fact that rape is a known and accepted part of the prison system. As a bit of a note: an intact hymen does not guarantee virginity, rarely it can reform just like any other part of your skin, especially when you're younger. It can also break from a lot more than having sex, hitting a bad bump while riding a bike can do it for example, all it needs to do is cause enough pressure to tear it. The thing to take away from this is virginity is never something that should be used as evidence.
@nessyness54473 жыл бұрын
Yeah, to be fair, that episode was 2001. In one of the latest season they have a pregnant woman with an intact hymen. Makes sense, this show is based in real cases and even if they change stuff , they try to be as realistic as posible , so the info they give matches the info that people had ans believed in the moment of each episode
