@@GimbalGod As a skier I haven’t skied anything that deep but have a little experience with deep snow. You need to pop out to be able to turn, kind of bouncing your way down, riding the ramp you’re creating with your skis or board. I’ve skied all over Europe as well as Jasper and Whistler🇬🇧

@@grumpyone5963 It`s the same snow. But it can dump extremely much in one day, the terrain is different, like you have bamboo plants all over. And from my experience fewer people go off piste, so more snow for grabs. + just the experience with the culture. I have had equally amazing snow in Austria, Norway, Canada, but as a whole experience, Japan was probably best :P

Wow that’s some long lines for the lift. A lot of Japanese resorts won’t let you use your boards to line up for the lift either before it opens. Can confirm been a few dumps in the last week or so. Once you’ve had japow you can’t go back. A lot of Japan isn’t steep enough for the amount of snow. Skis sometimes makes it easier.

I went to Niseko over Christmas and new year. The snow was good but not 1m deep good. Probably best tho as it was my sons first snowboard holiday and I would have spent most of my time digging him out. The gates weren't open at this point either, I guess that the snow came after I left.
