I can't imagine the frustration by times, trying to deal with such massive solid blockages like that! I can just see you now, dragging the homeowners out by the ear and pointing the mess out to them, yelling "LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!! THIS IS BECAUSE OF YOU USING AND FLUSHING WIPES!" You guys are far too polite to do such, but I'd guess you were at least a little bit tempted by times, lol!

I believe on one of their videos they said they couldn’t do that because just like bodily fluids like blood has to be disposed properly it practically the same thing. I believe they did it once. Or maybe it was at Drains Cleaning with Tony (also from UK). I think there is not a problem with taking the sewage out of there, as long as it finally ends up where it belongs.

It’s clever phrasing really on the part of the wipe manufacturers. They’re indeed “flushable” in that they can technically be flushed into the pipe. Certainly doesn’t mean they won’t cause issues or that they’re “non-clogging” wipes. There’s a big difference and I have to imagine they used the term “flushable” versus “won’t block drains” for a reason.

Video should also be sent on to companies making these almost non-destructible wipes in the UK. At least in the US, they do start breaking down somewhat now. But they still are a nightmare for septic and sewer systems. But in the UK, the size of the sewage pipes is too small, even in new builds.

Another thing if the job has an outside or inside tap close to the door. I would always hook up to the water. At the end of the day do you empty the tank or does it carry over to the next day. But I just watch I don't know.

From what i noticed is diets that used to be plant and meat based didnt clog the systems the way modern junk diets do. The color is lighter too than what used to be. Doesn't rot because of the preservatives. You can learn a lot about people on that end of things.

1:53 while you‘re doing that… everybody else would have: 1. jetted everything from the gully side; 2. after they‘ve heared the jet at the blockage used a HOSE (not a bucket!) to flush the blockage OR shuffed out the blockage into a bucket, disposed of it and flushed the rest…

Used to live in a property with six flats sharing a line out to the main sewer. Because one teenager used wipes I spent quite a lot of time using my rods to keep it clear. She insisted that she only used wipes that were ‘flushable’.

I think it would just settle the solids even worse, a fork works quite well as you can almost use it like a wisk but without splashing.

@@paulf2529 yeah it would only move the slurry and liquids away from the solids but ive had some concrete in the past that looked to dry an sticky but as soon as you slap the poker on it , it turned to liquid and had decent flow but i suppose sand and stone would act diffrently to wet wipes, corn fat and god knows what else haha, would probably shatter the cheap plastic man holes nowadays and crack the old clay pipes and make a right job of it

Surprised you don't use a long rod, with a couple of side extensions, on a power drill to move\mix the mass. I use something like that to mix thick paint and mastic.
