I remember watching the first 2 girls as a very little girl on the voice of germany (I am german) and my dad, also a singer, was sitting next to me and he just said something like "wow, they are gonna win this." And they did.

Mimi and Josefin with "Creep" as well Yaroslav with "Nessun Dorma" brought me to tears, while Rockzone with "Killing in the Name of" was pure party. Courtney with "Nutbush City Limits" was better on BGT or AGT where i saw her with this song the first time, thats why i wasn't flashed from her performance.

The boy that sang Nessun Dorma reminded me that Castrati were popular starting in the 1550's in the Church, but became more widely practiced in the Baroque opera era, especially in the 17th and 18th centuries They were boy sopranos who got a little snip-snip so they would maintain their high voices into adulthood. Many composers wrote their music especially for castrati. The practice is now illegal, worldwide. Their special abilities were removed from the gene pool, as they weren't able to procreate and pass on their DNA. The powers-that-be that made the decision to have boys undergo this surgical procedure removed the future possibilities of a talent they so highly prized. Imagine a scenario where you are told your young son has been 'selected' to be castrated for the glory of their musical abilities.
