Didga the Australian skateboarding cat and her owner Robert performed a total of 20 tricks in one minute to earn themselves a place in the Guinness World Records 2017 book: www.guinnessworldrecords.com/2017
Didga, who was adopted from a cat shelter, can even take on the challenge of a real skateboarding park.
The tricks include:
1. Sit
2. Give left paw
3. High-five
4. Give right paw
5. Wave
6. Sit-up
7. Lay down
8. Go onto one-side
9. Roll-over
10. Back to sit
11. Stand
12. Shuffle right
13. Shuffle left
14. Spin 360
15. Come (walk to me)
16. Stop
17. Step on the coin
18. Jump into hands
19. Go from hand, down to knee, then onto the skateboard
20. While the board is moving, jump over the bar and land back onto the board, a.k.a. "hippy-jump"

There could be a train wreck outside and he will still be heard snoring his tiny snore...but let ME try to sleep...he pounces on my face every time he uses the litterbox (or ANYTHING else related to ME sleeping)bc he wants a treat or back rub. That guy is SO cute !! I love how much he loves his cat : ) I don't get how anyone can see this as "forcing" a cat to do this when it's actually highly recommended to teach cats tricks because it stimulates their brain. A bored cat is a stressed cat. Stimulating activities like tricks and interactive toys-and a good diet (such as raw meat!!)-is key to a happy and healthy cat

This is so funny. I found it because I actually managed to teach my 10 year old cat "sit" and "paw" recently. She loves treats so much she learned each trick in about a day! She's so smart :D

CATMANTOO Hi Robert When you say "don't shop". do you mean from the pet store or other people? Does "adopting" mean getting from the shelter or from other cat owners who say have a litter? What is the reason for adopting and not shopping? I know shelter cats will be killed if they don't get an owner, but is there a difference with the ones in the shop? Or is this shopping thing about breeding cats simply for profit?

I have owned dogs my entire life, so when we took in a cat from the street I had no idea to do with him. First off we decided to call him George (for curious George). Next, I just did what I taught the dogs in the same way. Georgie has learned to come when I call him by name, sits on command, and actually knows the word no (probably I say that the most). He gets excited like the dogs when I say 'want a treat', 'want to go outside', and anytime I mention meal time. He's still a cat though and does his share of knotty things around the house. Georgie has taught me about having patience, tolerance, and trust. I don't know if I will get another cat when he is gone. It will most likely be like the first time...the cat will just show up and stay.

Cats are much more intelligent and willing to learn than we give them credit for. My cat doesn't do much in the trick department, but he does understand "outside," "upstairs," "jungle gym," "grass," "come," "sleep," "walk," "eat," "no!," get off the table!," and "leche" (milk in Spanish). And Robert is right: cats can tell when you're happy with them, and also when you're NOT so happy with them!

I've never seen a cat properly skateboard but look up Tillman the skateboarding bulldog if you want a see a dog skate. He couldn't exactly do tricks but he could skateboard properly.

It's great to teach tricks to pets. It keeps their brain healthy and entertained. My dog loves the trick sessions, sometimes she even brings me the toys we use to train her like "let's do tricks!!". Plus tricks help the owners to understand their animals better, and the animals to understand the owners better, especialy the human language.
