Exactly. The pnw doesn’t have any destination resorts really. Apparently that’s what people want though still based on sales and what people’s wallets say. Hence vail and Breckenridge and those places still being the most visited ski resorts in America. I can’t afford a slope side luxury hotel in a village lol. Bro Nothing messes up the snow more than a snow board. LOL. I have boarded and skied over 100 days on that mountain. The reason skiers ski like that is because that's how you ski . One way to anyway. You get into a natural movement side to side. You would have to experience it yourself to understand. Also you can put your knees together and literally start snowboarding with your snow skis. Or full blast and just ski fast and a snowboard has no change in a high speed race. Snowboarding is super easy and gets boring except on powder days. Try a pair of skis. There way more fun I promise. I Still board also but Skiing is 10 times sicker. Trust me. Also skiing backwards is a lot of fun. I shit you not I can pass you on that same hill on that same run going left to right so fast both left and right motion and proceeding down hill at a high rate of speed you would Be like Damn homie. LOL. You could to with some practice. That Side to Side quick cutting life is the shit.
@PhaseSkater2 жыл бұрын
Snowboards don’t mess up up the snow if you go flat base and straight. Only two edges while skis have 4 edges, and less surface area so it sinks lower in the snow. And snowboards can go super fast too if you know how to send it straight and have a good high performance base. Most snowboards have slow extruded bases

@@PhaseSkater lmao . It’s the plow effect when coming to a stop for most boarders who are amateurs. It’s not even debatable snowboarders trash runs significantly more than skiers. I know this because a snowboard and ski. . Why do you think Alta doesn’t allow snow boarders ? Again it’s the plow effect when the come to a stop and it will push the snow up and over your board. It also destroys powder much faster. Obviously a board is much bigger then most skis .

Thanks for another great vid! Please, a question: how is the snow quality compared to Silver Mountain or someplace in the Wasatch? I know UT but no idea about the others. Thank you advance!!
@PhaseSkater2 жыл бұрын
From my experience, bogus has better snow than silver mountain in mid winter. Silver was a little icier and the area is also less sunny. And Utah resorts have better snow on average. It’s drier and softer in Utah and has less of a chance to turn into icy. Bogus can get icy in the shadows sometimes

How is bogus for beginners? Such as compared to Dollar Mountain in Sun Valley? Family considering Bogus, but the wife is definitely a beginner.
@PhaseSkater Жыл бұрын
Honestly the top part of dollar mountain at sun valley is steeper than any run at bogus. If you want steeper at bogus then you have to go off the trails and more off piste back country or double black diamonds. Bogus has a lot of mellow and medium sections. Dollar mountain is definitely better for super beginners if you’re just learning bunny slopes

I don’t have anywhere near as much experience as PhaseSkater at traveling through different resorts (only been to a handful here in Idaho) so I can’t provide a comparison. The best skiing I’ve experienced at bogus is off groomers. lots of options for off trail adventure and exploration. There’s several “highway” runs that you use to get around the resort to different chairlifts. I like to take those and then randomly drop off the side and go explore.
