Freelander 1 is bad, wa! We purchased it for KES 950K and within 1.5 years, we had spent KES 1.2M in repairs. We sold it for KES 650K after 1.5 years. We were lucky to even find a buyer. However the looks inside are awesome, handling is really nice. But, the car was always in the garage. We once replaced tail light bulb and the car could not start. It had to be reset. Removed battery terminals because it had a welding repair. We had to call an expert to reset the car. Leave this car alone

This one can ruin someone financially. They are only good when new or less than 5 years old. The tales we have seen or read about the car are horrifying. If has the looks and the interior looks well built and won't give up soon.

Mine is kg11, Sijaona shinda ya overheating, Dashboard unaenda kwa watu wa car stitch/upholstery nikawekewa leather dashboard .... Kitu umenisumbua from last week ni hard start.

Freelander 2 with the 2.2 diesel from Peugeot/Ford is an excellent reliable unit. I cant see anyone who can break anything except maybe the transfer case.

Whilst i agree with you on the other cars, i beg to differ on the Nissan Sunny QG15. That car is a bullet proof, especially the 5 speed manual one with the Nissan Ecology Oriented Technology. It is as reliable as a Toyota Corolla, simple, cheap to maintain and dependable. Just like any other vehicle, it has to be maintained religiously to keep it running smoothly. However you nailed it on the VW Golf TSI, that's an endless money pit... 😊
