For anyone looking, you can get a plate loaded cable machine that also allows for lat pulldowns and low rows from Titan for $750, and a Hack Squat and Leg Press Combo for the same price. As Joe said, Titan makes some real stinkers, but I have had these for years and they have done me well.

From a commercial gym perspective I see why people might not like Titan. I'm not sure all of their equipment can handle the hard use of many people and abuse of people not caring as much because they don't own the piece themselves. That being said, I have a bunch of Titan stuff in my home gym and it all holds up pretty well. Especially since it's only me and I don't slam my shit around

I see people with pendulum squat racks in their garage set-ups. One of those works be gnarly. But the hack squat is still a dream piece.

I just got the Titan hack squat/leg press for my house and also the plate loaded seated quad extension/hamstring curl. the extension is wonderful but I don't really like that hamstring curl, BUT if you have a flat bench and a functional trainer, get the Spud Inc. foot strap attachment and attach it to your low cable then lay flat on a bench and do some hamstring curls.

I think that one of the most versatile tools for an home gym are and will always be gymnastic rings. They are cheap, lightweight, can be mounted everywhere. You can definitely get strong on them doing isometric holds or movements like chinups, dips, hanging leg raises and so on. You can buy a dip belt, that is also cheap, or a weighted vest and add weight to these exercises, so you can add progressive overload to your strenght progressions. They can't be used for legs training, but when it comes to upper body training gymnastic rings are definitely the cheapest and most efficient option for an home gym.

Rings are great but depending on your weight/strength level they can be a hard barrier of entry. Sure you can do like reverse rows or something but kind of limited if you are just starting to train and have very little strength.

#3 is a pretty tough pick for a home gym owners. Both take up a ton of space and have less variation use potential. A seated extension/curl combo is my next machine for the basement gym but it's getting crowded - stationary bike, rower, curl/tri machine, power rack, dip station, back extension, and a couple plate trees combine to take up most of my available space.

If anyone's thinking of getting a trap bar for a home gym, just make sure you have enough space for it-they can be massively inconvenient when not in use. No, I don't have to keep mine in the spare room just so I can use my bedroom gym...why do you ask?!

true, they take up a lot less space stored vertically though and you can get a trap bar stand for that

Rings, back extension, SSB, a cable rig setup. You just can't go wrong with these. You don't even need a heavy duty lat pulldown machine or hamstring curl, a multi grip pullup bar or Nordic curl setup is fine

Jacob's Ladder is a waste imo. I have put quite a bit of money in to my gym, but I am not about to drop $3,500-$5000 for a piece of cardio equipment. Get a bike from Wal-Mart for $300 or off Craigslist for $100. Boom, cardio. Or if you live in a cold climate like me drop $600 on a decent stationary. $3,500+ and 200sqft of gym space eaten up for a cardio machine is silly af.

Dude you want a good SSB check out ELITEFTS or Kabuki.
@rodolfomedini99313 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think you're better off buying a second Titan SSB if you're in need it's an almost identical clone of the EliteFTS the Titan's chrome is better choice then the clear powder coat that flakes so in some regards it's better bar... Buying the elite FTS wouldn't offer variety you're really buying a similar specialty bar you already have you can also spend more and get the Kabuki strength transformer bar which offers a lot of variety shipping just got cheaper or the mars bar which offers another unique squat variation... Just my thoughts it would be a shame to buy essentially the same specialty bar.... The camber angle is identical however the elite FTS drops an inch lower which does feel better but I'd still buy Titan factoring price and durability... Garage gym lab did an in depth comparable video as well as a variance where you swap out the handles for cannon ball grips on either the Titan or EliteFTS...

Hey Szat have you ever heard of people having weird lower back pain doing the high handle trap bar ? I feel great conventional bar or low handle trap bar but feels like my bones are grinding or something with high handle lol, very unpleasant
@ShaneTumminello3 жыл бұрын
IMO, there’s absolutely no point to get the SSYoke if you already have the Titan SSB V2. They’re the same exact bar and unless you wanna pay $150 more just to have the EliteFTS branding on it, there’s nothing else about it that differs. If anything, you’d be better off looking into a Kabuki Transformer Bar.

In all fairness the Titan SSB is good because they ripped off Elite FTS. Look at for first version to see what happens when they don't copy others. But the SSB bar and the Elite American Camber Bar are 2 of my favorite pieces of equipment in my garage.
@SzatStrength3 жыл бұрын
Love the SSB (any of them) and American cambered bar is a fave!
@davidlehmann55503 жыл бұрын
Titan improved the Elite FTS design by making it so you can use standard collars instead of having to buy a set specifically for the SSB. It doesn’t sound like much, but it saves money and simplifies things enough that I would recommend the Titan version over the Elite FTS and Rogue versions.
