Thanks for this review, made me step up from the bar 1000 I intended to buy, and spend the extra on the 1300. Blown away with the sound, the simplicity and the ease of use. Sorting out my HDMI cables between Shield, bar and TV was about the hardest thing. JBL quick start guide was amazingly unhelpful, will have to download the full one. App was slow for me personally, but so incredibly automatic and easy to use. Will get in trouble when wifey gets home for spending money, till I sit her down in front of Bladerunner 2029 or similar!

Very nice review. When the JBL BAR 1300 went on sale, I looked for reviews wherever I could. I was thinking about the Samsung 990B or the Sony HT-A7000. Samsung is an excellent, really excellent soundbar. But not for me. Sony required additional investment. I more or less decided to buy it, I am satisfied with the JBL 5.1 soundbar. I have been using the JBL 1300 sound bar for more than two months. It's always on when I'm home. Netflix, HBO MAX, Disney+, SkyShowtime. Music via Tidal. I am extremely satisfied. Even though the price seemed high, today I don't regret it at all and it is worth every euro I paid for it! Some observations: SetTopBox - low sound quality - I turn off Smart Mode. Movies in DTS 5.1 are resampled by the soundbar to DTS: Neural X. In fact, any DTS format is always resampled. I disable this option. Unpublished settings: DTS Neural X On/Off mode : DTS:X is always played as DTS Neural X by default, although there is no official way to change it, just press the TV button on the remote control for more than three seconds and then press the play button. Nightmode On/Off: press the mute button on the remote control for more than three seconds and then press the minus button.

You seem like the best at this I live in an apartment and only want to be a standalone soundbar without having to purchase any extra speakers 🔊 or subwoofers etc. What is the best standalone soundbar for a brand new LG OLED G4 television? Any assistance you can bring is greatly appreciated!

I wonder how does this soundbar work with PC gaming? I play a lot of Counter Strike and Halo Infinite. I also watch a lot of movies on my PC. Would this JBL 1300 be ideal? Or should I get a Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2? I saw your Katana V2 review, excellent information!

Thanks! I personally would suggest the Creative, as it's more versatile and made for such setups. These home cinema soundbars imo are better suited in front of a TV rather than a monitor. Note, if you're playing CS, I really hope you're using headphones lol

I recently received my JBL Bar 1300 and am experiencing an issue. When playing music or videos from my phone, the sound only comes from the rear detachable speakers, while the main unit remains silent, muffled. Keep in mind that the detachable speakers are attached to the main bar. When I detach one of the rear speakers, the sound immediately switches to the main unit. Reattaching the speaker results in sound coming only from the left and right detachable speakers, with the main unit muted, muffled. Do you experience the same thing? Playing music via Bluetooth from the phone.

Playing via Bluetooth the sound from the main bar is muffled( the center speakers), the sound comes only from the left and right. When im detaching not 'disconnecting' one of the rear speakers, the sound starts playing on the main unit. Only when im detaching one of the rear speakers, the sound comes from all speakers ( rears and main unit) I really dont know what to do.... Playing music or videos via hdmi i am not experiencing this issue. Only Bluetooth.

@@philippecristian6337 feel free to contact tech support. I didn't have any issues by following the instructions in the manual. It was either the soundbar or the speakers, but not both - you need to repair to make that happen though.

Hi, good morning I wanted to ask you a question, I have the JBL 1300 soundbar! Is there a possibility to raise the volume of the central channel? Because I found that the volume is low even after calibrating, in conclusion to hear speech in a film I have to keep the soundbar volume high and this means that when the effects are present they are too invasive, if you can tell me if there is the possibility of increasing the central unit would be doing me a favor, thank you!

Hi, when I listen to music on the JBL1300 through bluetooth with the detachable speakers plugged into the main bar, the main bar doesn’t make any sound, only the detachable speakers do. And once I detach them, then the main bar starts playing. I wonder why the whole bar can’t play music to enjoy the full power of the set without detaching the rear speakers. Do you know how to fix this ? Thanks

I think it might be due to how you've paired up to the speakers. I can't recall exactly but you might need to pair separately to the bar, rather than the speakers. Check the manual or ask JBL for more info.

Samsung creates the best soundbar on the market. With Samsung TV plus (Q-Symphony) + rear speakers! A real cinema scene is created. I have the Q800B myself and I think it is a great Soundbar for little money! In addition, I have a Samsung TV and the sound quality when watching movies, listening to music and playing games is great. Additionally, I want to buy additional speakers and it will be an even higher level.

No. 990b rated .3 higher than jbl 1300x. 990c rated .4 higher than jbl 1300x on rtings. They are both practically the same bar minus nuances that each bar does differently such as samsung can get louder than jbl and other small things. Your ears will tell you what you like more.

Also, my cats can jump on the speakers (and they are relatively high) and jumping from them to another place, they can knock them over. Unlike the flat rear speakers 1300

I own Samsung Q990C and it's far better than jbl 1300. Lows, Mids, Higs are excellent with no distortion. JBL does not even come close to 990 models. But for this review ' Love from 🇮🇳 '

Jbl just gives bass direction downwards hence people feel the difference. If you are strictly only bass lover then jbl 1300x / 1000 would be your pick. But samsung definitely has crisp and thumping bass which does not spoil mids and highs

They are good for only movies for music they are very bad, little better for gaming. Rear speakers are too weak in volume and quality sound and you can't change settings for each speaker like sound volume. Simple Equalizer in this app is not enough in my opinion., they should add advance settings as well. For that price, no big NO! My JBL Bar I gave back to the shop and was almost ready to buy 1000ver. but for now I didn't decide and still trying to find any good Soundbar and for now, still Samsung is I think is the top and second but with a lot of cable management Nakamichi soundbar.
