I agree with you. In the West, we call what u are describing: "The Cycle of Poverty." Parents raised in poverty feeling powerless about their abilities to effectively change the destinies of their kids and raise kids who adopt the same mindset. In other words, u have too many people in existing in their comfort zones but not thriving. Depressed, and unwilling to gamble on future endeavors for fear that they could losebtheblittle they do possess. They cannot or need more tangible evidence of how other villagers lives are changing for the better to better envision the future you, your wife, Marwa and his family envision for Nyabohanse. Their pessimism is fueled by seeing mostly "outsiders" building new homes in "THEIR Village" and appear to have mixed feelings about the possibilities you and Marwa envision that will improve the livelihood of ALL those who were born there and the folks willing to move there to create an environment that is with infrastructures that will attract new businesses, health care facilities, entertainment facilities and jobs and is safe enough to raise kids. As Bob Marley's song says: Don't give up the fight!! 😊
