I think this is mostly because they have been attached at the hip since their trainee days even before forming a team with the other members. Their bond is definitely special/one of a kind. It's not an easy thing to actually end up debuting in the same team as your trainee days bestie. Kai might not be vocal about it for various reasons (haters and antis) but he probably knows more about Soobin than the other guys. He shows how much he worries for Soobin in non verbals ways. Just watch how he reacts to Yeonjun being all over Soobin sometimes.
