Totally. Agree with you Richy, VFR v-techs’s are a fantastic ‘all rounder’ and I much prefer their sound to the ‘chugging’ of your Africa Twin……both great bikes though. My 2001 VFR is superb and I can’t imagine life without her (I’m 79 and don’t plan to stop riding any time soon unless some ‘dickhead’ takes me out……..”sorry I didn’t see you mate”!……..hopefully not though). I also have a 02VFR800rc46 surprised you never talk about the performance. The reliability is top-notch. OMG they are fast. If you want to go it wil put a smile on your face. The VFR's characteristics make me happy. I'm either chilling with plenty of torque putting around town. Or hanging on for dear life. It's an awesome bike perfect for everything. Excellent video. What ceramic did they use...FK1000P wax is a sealant that you can put on rims.. Try clay then snowfoam, ph shampoo plus dry.

I've just been giving my VFR a deep clean in preparation to sell it. Mine has been a work horse for me and since lock down I've worked from home and done less that 1000 miles in a year. I've not done any tours on mine like you have with yours, but there is something special about these bikes. Seeing this vid gives me second thoughts about selling and makes me want to go for a ride on it. I'm lucky enough to own a new 1290 Superduke GT and it's still a difficult decision about which bike to go out on. Just shows what an amazing bike the VFR still is nearly 20 years after it was made.

Sold my red vfr vtec 2002 for scrap at 113,000 miles. Went straight out and bought a silver 08 vtec with 13k miles on the clock. Why would I trust any other bike after 100k+ miles of reliability. And a huge thank you to all of you vfr owners who continue to look after your bikes and keep the mileage low, for guys like me who might one day be looking for another eternal, gorgeous machine 🙂✊️

Just found your videos and they are great !! I am thinking of buying a 57 reg with 23,000 on bike looks great but I am worried about the VTEC valves/ cam problem ( I have been bitten before on a second hand older Suzuki 🤦) are they a major issue and what mileage is it best to check ? I really like the look of the bike

VTEC problem? 🤔 I’ve never heard of any issues with this model? Engine is rock solid. Mine has over 90k miles now and has never had the valves done. Runs tighter than ever.

Hello Richy, I remark that your helmet mount for GoPro has changed and seems to be lighter. I'm interting in it, but your link is broken in the desciption. Can you tell me which one do you use and if you are happy with it compared to your previous one, please ? Ride safe ✌

The mount? I made it myself out of a GoPro curved mount. Pulled the 3m sticky off it, cut half of it off, filed it smooth, then used Sugru to refund into place. 👍

Thats a lovely bike Richy, you've had some fantastic adventures and seen some wonderful places and things with that bike. Bruce Lee and his sons graves.. Ref your sunburst/ sunstar photo.. I know how to do that, just stop the lens down a bit and you also want clear light for best effect. It's getting real expensive to get bikes overseas, been looking into this myself but a big closer to home, Europe!! Sandy

Mile Marker Mike from Wichita Kansas: I would rather ride the VFR over the Africa Twin. Can't bring myself to buy an Africa Twin. I know what you mean about the VFR having it so long. My Goldwing is a 2007 and it continues to take me to cool places. Keep it polished and clean it will last forever. Been following you since your U.S. ride. Still have my Wildbad stickers on my trunk. I wanted to travel to England and look you up but with all the crazy world issues. It just doesn't seem to ever happen. But at least I can be there watching you ride in spirit. Did 10,000 miles on three major trips last summer. Doing Montana, Idaho, Wyoming ride Jackson Hole, Yellowstone and all over Arkansas. Do a lot of video and pictures. Having a youtube channel. Cool looking back on places I rode. I watch you U.S. tour at least once a year. Your know how to have a good time. Take care. Let us know if you decide to do another U.S. tour. P.S. Do you have others doing your drive by shots or do you place your own cameras in place back track and ride past the camera to get you shots.

I know you are on a schedule when you come over. Idaho Wyoming with the Grand Tetons. Teton pass as you leave Jackson Hole. And Yellowstone all areas to complete your bucket list. That is my stomping ground growing up. I live in Kansas now. But it would be cool to meet up with your group in some of these locations. Another bucket list. I can see why you want to ride thru these areas. It's probably comparable to Switzerland, Austria and Norway. If you want to ride to Glacier National Park double check if you have to make reservations. That's another place you must go. Anyway! I'm glad the world events isn't slowing you and Egon's rides down. Oh and Graham! Since I spent some time in Scotland. I love Graham's accent. Plus the humor of the group. I do miss the fish and chips! American restaurants just can't pull off a good fish and chips.

Rich, you commenting on how your Silver Lady changed your life.... Changed mine as well. It was a few years ago now, but I mentioned to my friend that I thought a VFR might be the ideal "Everything" bike I was looking for, after having ridden many different bikes over many years on mostly sportsbikes. I was riding a Ninja 6 at the time, he was on a brand-new 1200GS at the time. Having mentioned the VFR, he sent me a link to your video "10 Things I Hate About The Honda VFR800". I had literally just bought my VFR..Honestly, within a few days. I didn't get the irony of your video at first, but then it immediately became clear. Anyways, we all have our Silver Lady stories, and I just wanted you to know that you were a part of mine. And have been for over 5 years now. Thanks for what you do, and how well you do it. Good to see the VFR still going strong. I had a '03 red for 9yrs. Put 85000kms on it before I traded first a Triumph Tiger 800XRT. I spotted my VFR at a local bike Cafe recently, still looking good with a few mods. I tried to find the owner to have a chat but just to many people there :(. Had a Yamaha Tracer GT 900 just traded on a new Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro. I do like triples but miss the V4 at full noise ;).

Hugely coincidentally, despite being a subscriber for a long while, I had not watched your big tours (USA and Norway) but have been over the last ten days, so you mentioning Norway in this video made me laugh. Glad the Silver Lady is still churning out the miles and you are enjoying her. I am the same with my Triumph Speedmaster, he doesn't do much in the winter or in bad weather - with all that lovely chrome - but my new Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro does get out and about in all weathers.

I know how you feel about your Silver lady mate. I've had my FJR1300 for about 14yers years now and last year got myself a tiger 800xca to down size a bit. But I can't bring myself to sell my FJR. It's only done 28k miles and I would eat food off any part of it apart from the bottom of the tyres 🤣

That clutch rattle is normal on vfrs with a few miles on them both my 2 750 models rattle on tick over both off mine have done over 60 thousand miles been like it for last 20 thousand .Looks well rich you beat a honda for build quality I hoped you have cleaned the silver lady from this mornings ride !! This season use it more often the vfr is the daddy of sports touring bikes in my view .

Well only getting watching it now, but i love your vfr your 1 in particular also always holds a soft spot for me, its the reason why i got mine, ive owned mine now 3 years went from red to white now to black, and i absolutely adore it(may sound odd but to u it wont) il never in a million years sell it. It brought me so many new places brought me so many new life time friends it brought me to creating my own biking group which is now soon ready to hit 1.5k members.. Its more than a bike and i like you dont value it as money.. Its part of me now and itl never go anywhere thanks to you, il never trust another bike like i trust my vfr.

Dropped my mint VFR today. Like an idiot forgot to take the disc lock off. Snapped mirror, scuffed fairing and lots of embarrassment! 😔 still beating myself up about it hours later.

Oh no, Barry. Sorry to hear that. Disc locks are more trouble than they’re worth. Be never used one, and hear this happening all the time. My mate actually did it only a couple weeks ago on his VFR, too. Best place for a disc lock is in the wheelie bin 👍
