OMG I almost forgot this Skoda 100 style dashboard! 😀 So cool!

Yes, this was the poorest equipped model one could buy. 105 s. Speedometer and gauges indeed still look a lot like S100. This basic version had rubber floor mats instead of carpet, rear windows can’t be opened, no ashtray in the rear door panels, no board light on passenger side etc. But in fact in 1987 105 s for export to the western countries was not that poor compared to the models who were produced for their home market. Those had no brake booster, no head rests, etc. And there also was a 105 s standard, the factory cut back on even more options. 😃 I’d love to have one of these. I like the dashboard too, super functional. Provides all you need and the best: it lasts for eternity.

@@MrSkoda105s You're right! Just forgot: no rear door handles inside (they had just a fabric loop to close the door) and also no seatbelts in the back. 😀

Nice to see this lovely old Skoda pass her MOT with flying colours! Wish I'd kept one of mine! I had two of them in the 90s. Sadly, my first black and white 1985 model 120L (with a sunroof) that I got for £800 in 1992 died of big end damage at 80,000 miles in 1994 and was deemed uneconomic to repair, especially as there were lots of affordable used examples for sale. I bought a 1987 battleship grey one to replace it for £500 and that did me great service, also travelling all over Europe for work reasons. That was sold on to Australian tourists visiting the UK in 1996 when I bought a Favorit GLXi Estate. They did about 20-30,000 miles a year for me and were pretty reliable, but I serviced them regularly..

@@MrSkoda105s I think there are very few 105/120/130 and Rapids of that time left to save in the UK 😐 and the ones that have been restored go for very high prices. They all seemed to vanish very fast after about 2000, we had a stupid scrappage scheme then that maybe got them, sadly. Maybe there would probably a better chance of finding something affordable and driveable in eastern Europe. Visiting Prague in 2010 I was surprised how many there still were on the roads there being used as basic transport, but I'm told there are now far fewer. I presently own a silver 2014 Rapid 1.2SE, so I'd love to have a 1980s Rapid too! 😁 If wishes were horses...
