A Hill- So, after 2 years, are you still a Motorheadbanger? Are you enjoying the discovery of each album?... whatever order you are discovering them in? I’m 49, been a fan for a good 25 years, and there’s still a handful of albums I don’t have. I’d say the one I’m coveting the most is Another Perfect Day, the only one with Brian Robertson on guitar. Oh, and then there’s Orgasmatron. And, incredibly, I’ve never heard No Sleep Til Hammersmith, unbelievable for such a long time super fan! On another note, I could listen to/watch interviews of Lemmy all day... no pretension, no “rockstar” answers to questions. And also, Phil Campbell is one of the most underrated hard rock guitarists ever!.... I highly recommend the Lemmy movie/documentary.
@hashysh135 жыл бұрын
Nice....better late than never. I'm 52, and I bought my first Motorhead album in 82 or 83.....it was Ace Of Spades. I've been a huge fan since. There's a couple of cool ep's they did in collaboration with The Damned (Motordamned), Wendy O' Williams of the Plasmatics, and of course the one they did with Girlschool (Headgirl). I'm sure they're posted on here somewhere, and definitely worth a listen. They released a ton of albums, and not a bad one in the bunch. Lemmy was one of rock's great songwriters, having penned a couple of songs for Ozzy (Close My Eyes Forever and Mama I'm Coming Home) and others as well, although I can't think of who at the moment......maybe Alice Cooper? I could be thinking of Alice cause the first time I saw Motorhead was in 88, opening for Alice. I saw them again the same year with Slayer....or was that one in 90. ....my memory is fuzzy after all this time. Last time I saw them was 9 or 10 years ago, at a festival known as Heavy Montreal, and once again, they delivered the goods, as always. Anyway, didn't intend on writing a book here....enjoy discovering Motorhead......I sure did. You've had a couple of years now, hopefully you've started checking out some of their albums. Cheers!
@hashysh135 жыл бұрын
@@bradss1000 You definitely need to get No Sleep Til Hammersmith.....one of the great live albums of the era....if not ever. I'm sure it's posted here somewhere, so you can at least listen to it, but I definitely recommend picking it up. I think, if memory serves me correctly, that might have been my 2nd Motorhead album.....was either that one or No Remorse. Oh yeah....could have also been What's Words Worth, an earlier live album recorded at The Roundhouse in London....so one of those 3 were my 2nd. I also remember buying Iron Fist when it came out....I never understood why people didn't like that one as much.....it's still one of my favorites. They're all great though.

"We are Motorhead. And we play rock and roll." The statement has as few words as can be used to convey the message. Totally undiluted. Followed by a concert that is every bit as pure and undiluted as the statement. @strongbad66610 ай бұрын
@@stevebond7387Wow, that's a really good question. I'd say the "We are Motorhead" tour in 2000. I met Lemmy at the show (he was at the bar sucking down some gin), and he gave me the best piece of advice I've ever received from someone about playing music. I'd also say the "Inferno" tour of 2004/2005 was equally as good (and probably a better album than 'WAM'; also when they did "Whorehouse Blues" live it was essentially Motorhead unplugged, they were all doing acoustic instruments like in the song). In third place I'd put "The World is Yours" tour in 2012; it is such an interesting album for a band late in their career to not only reinvent themselves but return to some of their stuff/style they had in the first four albums.

As a 14 year old my first ever concert was Motorhead back in 1977 with Saxon as support. I came away thinking it was bloody loud!

Another Perfect Day is an underrated Motorhead LP. Robbo's bitchiness ruined that album's reputation.

I have bee lucky enough over the years to see Motorhead with all the major players. To me these 3 seem to bring it the best. I liked the Wurzel, Campbell era with Philthy and then Mickey. Don't get me wrong Eddie was great but the energy is so much better with the current line up. Motorhead forever! So sad it's over.

No band is as loud as Motörhead. And no band will be as loud as them. When Motörhead comes on stage, they're as loud as it gets. And that's when it's loud enough

So glad I got to see them live... Never was straight Rock 'n Roll 0layed with such ferocity and intensity. And it, most likely, never will be again. RIP Lemmy Kilmister, Eddie Clarke, Philthy Taylor and Würzel...

It’s a lesser world where you can’t go and get a fix of Motörhead. But thanks for this great video, it’s the later version of the band at its peak

Ha, how many bands kept at it playing endlessly and regularly putting out albums... and wound up with three killer albums at the end of their career that rate with the best they did? And Jeezus, they really catch fire about half an hour in on this show. A zillion thanks from shelter in place SF to Swedish Rock N'Roller for posting...

He was a very relaxed person, he had his life pretty much as he wanted it. But what this says to me is that he was at his happiest doing this. I truly believe that he was born to do this. He just stands there.......and does it. It’s what he does.(did). Absolutely bloody magnificent.

You know I've seen these guy's a few times! I was in Germany from 73-03 and they used to have a concert series called Monsters of Rock and Motorhead was on the bill a few times, and when I think about it them and BOC are the only bands I seen at more than one. Leastwise that I remember.

I saw Motorhead several times in 1981 and it doesn't matter whether the line up includes Eddie and Animal or Phil and Mikkee, Motorhead are Motorhead and they play rock and roll.

Mikey Dee and Phil Campbell... the Motorhead line up as good but just different to Philthy and Fast Eddie. What a power trio these boys were! Chef's kiss.

.I wish there was more back stage footage before going on...I'm laughing Phil and Lemmy both have a smoke goin and, it's kind of like everyone in on a rehearsal with Phil goovin' around the stage and just as good stage presents as Philthy and Eddie.and that, is remarkable
