I've never seen a chain driven passenger elevator like this before. The closest was the dual winding drums with home elevators. Come across wheelchair lifts with a similar design. This hoist is a lot slower, than a conventional traction elevator would be. There might be a safety brake beneath the cab, to prevent a free fall.

Wow, that thing is sure to wake up everybody if used at night! Nice that you can see the motor unit. Is there any safety feature to prevent you from plummeting down if the chain breaks? I have seen that happen on goods lifts. I would have liked to see the under side of the cabin.

The mc 2000 is alot less trouble some
