I live in Houston. You can't call HPD for anything. Nothing is important enough for them. Better hope the crimes you're reporting didn't happen within the city limits, because the police departments around Houston are great, but Houston itself... don't bother reporting anything. I don't know about corrupt, but at the very least they're so understaffed they never seem to get anything done. Ironic since they used all their resources to find him but not to prosecute her for wasting them and their time, isn't it?

@@VeldrusaraI remember watching a 911 call thing on YT once and this woman called up to report that her friend just FaceTimed her and shown his girlfriends dead body on FaceTime to her and the 911 for the Houston area lady was completely complacent and seemed bored on the call, she kept saying to the girl “what makes you think this is in Houston?” And the caller was like “because he’s in Houston! He’s about to go take his girlfriends body to a lake in houston” and the operator was saying “what lake? There’s no lakes in Houston I don’t think” 😂 it was mind blowing how much she was doing everything she could to deter doing her actual job. @@Chloe__________xx I know the call you're talking about. I don't remember it being in Houston, but it could have been---I listen to so many, I don't remember where they took place at very often. It would be a rather stupid thing for the dispatcher to say if it was, anyway. Everyone who lives here knows what Clear Lake and Lake Houston are. There are ten large lakes and 150 small lakes here. Oy! 🤪 911 dispatchers aren't directly related to the PDs either way, but yeah, everyone from the main HPD office to the detectives themselves all have sounded like the most dismissive group of people I've ever heard in my life the few times I tried to talk to them. My seven year old nephew is absolutely obsessed with police related everything and wants to be a HPD cop one day. I know kids seldom keep their dream careers in mind as they grow older, but I don't even know if I want him to or not. It's been sad to me that I have to ask myself that.

I was so confused as to why he would tell the activist dude all those allegations that were clearly sexual abuse in nature, but when questioned by the detectives about it he denies it. I thought maybe he just wanted to move on with his life and drop this whole thing or was just too nervous to admit his mom did that. The statement him saying, it’s not like we had intercourse or something , and that the media twisted his words and what not, pretty much proves your comment correct. How sad that he really believes he was not SA’ed by his mother when indeed we all know he was 😢 and to people getting upset that the detectives would question that to him, perhaps they were to try and lock down some charges on the moms crazy ass.

Absolutely. I was molested and abused from 4-6yrs old. My brain hid it away to protect me. Then when I was about 36 yrs old, it all came flooding back like a wave. I started remembering everything. Well almost everything . I got the courage to ask my mom if she knew. She said yes she knew. She said she would leave me and my lil sister with grandma while she worked . And I ended up living at grandmas house while my sister went home. She said my sister was so bad that grandma couldn’t watch her too . And my grandma left me alot with her next door neighbor . And her husband was molesting me. My grandma caught him a few times and always threatened him . But he just got better at hiding it. It ruined my life. I’m not gonna go into how. But I went thru a lot of bad things in my life and made terrible decisions and then at 14, I was molested again by my piano teacher. I tried to tell mom but she just said “well he likes u. Marry him”. I didn’t want to marry a 26 yr old man . I was 14 and liked boys my age. I was a virgin too and was pressured to have sex with him. I ran away at 16 and my dad died soon after of a brain tumor. I don’t want to say anymore

Just wanna state as someone with a ND it's a misunderstanding that a ND adult would have the mind of a child. It is simply not true. We have different support and communication needs but they are not reflected in a child like mind and you cannot say someone has the capacity of a 10 year old even if they have higher support needs then myself. It's infantalisation and it's a problem because it can be used to deny us rights and fair treatment. So it's actuallt unfair to assess his support needs and disability based on an interview like this. An example, right now your reading this thing I typed relitively compitantly with the help of my phone. Yesterday I became so overstimulated I actually was tottaly unable to verbalise and was in shut down for hours because the shopping center was busy. I became basically non functional. You can't tell that from this post. Or atleast you shouldent be able to. What I'm saying is it's important that we, as people do do not know him and as presumably non medical professionals make statements about his disability and needs. Ty for reading lol

I agree; either lying, was brainwashed to not see his experience as assault, or perhaps doesn’t understand that sexual assault is an umbrella term that goes beyond intercourse. To be honest, I’m actually leaning more toward him not seeing himself as a sexual assault victim due to his poor or warped grasp on what it entails. You can hear him express that his boundaries were imposed upon, but he avoids specifics and vehemently denies SA. Could be the police’s fault, perhaps suggesting some disgusting, inaccurate gender stereotypes about men not being SA victims. And yes, could also be embarrassed or afraid to incriminate his mother. My guess is the police’s approach has not helped him understand the depth of his victimhood and his mother certainly wouldn’t have imparted healthy perspective on the matter. Whatever the reason, I hope he heals.

@@katw.6519 It was a lot of inappropriate touching of my chest as well as inappropriately watching me (getting changed, in the shower) and being exposed around me a lot. I'm not sure what to call it all. When I was interviewed by CPS at age ~13, they asked me if I "thought he was doing it sexually" or if he just "wanted to be closer to me". One of the reasons they threw my case out was because I answered honestly that I had no clue what his intent was. They also said that since he "only" touched my chest, it didn't really warrant any further action. So, he was still allowed to try for custody of me and drag me through years of "reunification therapy" hell since nobody in the courts believed me. Luckily, I never had to be alone with him because I fought any unsupervised visitation attempts LITERALLY kicking and screaming and I had two police officers who believed me and refused to physically force me to go. (which, legally, they could have done. Look up Maya Laing for examples.) I didn't wanna make this whole thing about me, though. I don't mind sharing my story, but I'm only sharing it to say that this happens so much more than people are aware of. It'd be great if the justice system had the best interests of sexual abuse victims in mind but unfortunately that's not the case. They're always looking for ways to throw out your story and make it seem like it wasn't as bad as it actually was, and that's clearly what's happening to Rudy. He's doing what so many of us who've been abused do--minimizing the affect of what was done to make it sound like so much less than it was. He needs aftercare in the biggest way. I understand he wants to just live on his own and try to sort things out in his own mind, especially after how controlled and manipulated he's been for so many years, but left to his own devices, he may not heal as well as if he has a professional helping him sort through this quagmire of awful abuse. This case reminds me so much of the Gypsy Rose case. Total mind control from the parent that you’re supposed to be able to trust with your life. Adult or not, mental manipulation is REAL and no justice for the victim is totally disgusting. Especially because had he ended up taking matters into his own hands, like Gypsy did, he would surely be in prison.

I am in serious awe of Rudy. He's able to explain details of his mother's abuse and reflect on his own desires to nurture a beautiful life, after 8 years of living under the most horrific conditions imaginable, all whilst experiencing the terrifying side effects of hallucinogenics. She tried every hellish attempt to break him and she couldn't. I hope he receives a network of people to help him achieve his desires, and will be able to build new boundaries that lead him into freedom. The police were bullish, complacent and unlawful at every stage, and its sickening to think this case will get thrown out and ignored simply because of Rudy's age, as if that's of any relevance. After this case, I don't think I can stomach another true crime story for a while. Thanks to dreading for creating videos that cultivate respect and a balanced look into cases like these.

What Rudy's mother did to him is a type of abuse called "covert incest" where there is not necessarily any actual explicit sexual contact going on but where a parent will treat their child like a romantic partner like with inappropriate touching/kissing/nudity/etc and expect them to reciprocate. It's important that people are aware of this type of abuse or they ask stupid questions like those reporters who kept prying about sexual details or don't take it seriously like the cops who let it go just because there was no actual sex going on.

@@MadScientist267it doesn't matter what he states, he's mentally handicapped and severely mentally ill and mentally damaged from a lifetime of abuse and forced psychoactive drug use. He WAS sexually abused by his mother and he stated so, he just doesn't realize it. At a minimum his mother watched him shower and then would get in with him and make him 'wash her all over with the soap', that's sexual abuse even if it never went farther than that, and I doubt it didn't. Someone as abused as this, and so shut off from normal society, doesn't know what normal boundaries are and thus doesn't know what sexual abuse is unless it's penitrative and usually violent in nature.

I don't understand all these vaguely patronising replies. I'm aware this does happen to women and girls too, i was just expressing my disgust at the case in question. The victim in this video happens to be male and the medias response, as depicted in this video, was that abuse suffered by men isn't taken as seriously. I don't like abusers and people who hurt and victimise children and abuse survivors. Period.

@@nxi8792 Yeah sure, tbh I don’t know how many therapists it took me to finally open up, I’m thinking around 8 or 9. It was about ten years after I visited my first therapist that I was able to finally tell the whole story. I ended up in group therapy and by some miracle it was a tiny group of people who all went through what I have experienced (trauma wise). We weren’t even selected based on that, like I said: I got lucky. Hearing them opening up gave me the guts to finally tell my entire story, but that was still after six months of being in this group. I know 8 to 9 therapists and opening up after ten years is a crazy long time, but looking back it has been the perfect timing for me. Dealing with cptsd is hell and it’s not a quick fix. I don’t know if you’re currently going through the same, but if you are: give yourself time and grace. If you want to know anything else just ask! I hope you are safe and somewhat comfortable🌸

This particular type of abuse is unfortunately quite common between people who have been labeled as having an intellectual disability and their parents. There's a big pattern of isolating the person from outside eyes or a sense of normalcy, telling family members the disability is more significant than it is, even convincing that person themselves they are significantly disabled. The whole "he's nonverbal now" thing just reeks of this. It's so pervasive and police don't know what to do when intellectual disability is involved so the person is so often put back into their abusers care. I would say 1 in 30 adults with mild intellectual disabilities are experiencing this kind of abuse from a parent.
