I have to agree with mom. I live in Minnesota and after that month straight of upper 90s-100 I started to miss fall and winter believe it or not! Can't wait to get on the rider boots and flannels. So cute! Your parents are so young and pretty open-minded and understanding of your decision to move away at such a young age. My parents are/were much older than me (I'm the youngest of 4 girls) so there was a huge age gap between me and my parents and as a result, they were very traditional, strict, and set in their ways. I often wonder what my life would be like if I did what I actually WANTED to do at 20. I'm happy that you got to do what your heart told you was right for you. xo

I share many of the same views as your mom. We approach the future with trepidation. Staying where we are already established is comforting to us women as we get older. Though we do want to travel to places where we dreamt of living. I, too, am thinking Florida may be a place to spend a couple of months in winter or spring. It’s a little hot and humid year round in Florida. Plus housing is getting to be too pricey on a fixed income. And if the market crashes, we will be underwater in a mortgage. Your mom seems so nice and supportive of your endeavors. But I can tell she misses you very much!!! ❤️

Michael, your mom sounds like my mom, when I left Michigan at 22, to move to Colorado. I was the oldest child, and none of my family had really moved, other than my grandparents heading to Florida, after my grandpa retired. It was hard on my mom at first, as we were close, but then she liked the idea of being able to visit me in CA, the PNW, and CO. I came back for either Christmas or Thanksgivibg most years, as well as family weddings, and eventually, my grandfather's funeral in Florida. I think that helped. As a young kid, I had always wanted the family to live in a more exciting and warmer spot, but we generally went up north, or a couple winter vacations to Florida. My dad hated Michigan, but my mom was afraid of moving until my dad would line up a job. My dad was proud of me deciding to actually make a move. Was this video done at your mom's place in Belvidere? The 4 seasons argument I heard to high heavens, but once I lived in CA, I could care less if I ever saw winter again, and there were mountains in Big Bear or Tahoe, if I missed snow, anyway. I have never missed winter since! Good to see your mom in a video! Her voice sounds similar - it is part of that nasal Great Lakes accent that all my family has as well.
@MichaelBordenaro3 жыл бұрын
I think my mom likes the idea of coming to visit me too. I also went back for mini holidays and some graduations but I haven’t been back here in four years. Hopefully in the future I can visit more often. But I’m totally with you on the four seasons thing. I could care less about being in winter again too 😆 and being in California that’s the best of both worlds and you can get winter when you want it. Yes this was shot in my mom‘s living room and Belvidere! And I’m glad you also had the guts to leave home at a young age and you’ve had such a rewarding life since. In a lot of ways I’m following in your footsteps Jim

Randall here again, I think these videos are really good. Both of your parents have been wonderful to share their thoughts about letting you leave home and offer suggestions to parents out here that might be going through the same thing, letting their baby go. LOL You seem to have had a wonderfully supportive upbringing in your hometown. Landing in real estate was actually aligned to your skill set of math. Another thing in common, Bro I was good in math too and did land in the Information Technology sector as a computer programmer analyst. I love automobiles and racing, that is where I would have enjoyed the most, engineering maybe. Its interesting that your Mom is partial to, at the moment, the four seasons; and, I see her as a snowbird, if she has her way. Snowbird would be my choice if I could financially make it work. Keep the videos coming and I hope some of these different videos help you develop the channel to take off even more. I Appreciate the content and it how you are able to tie it to Florida, be entertaining, and helpful in developing perspectives on Florida.

Thank you Randall! Yes it was tough for both of them to let me go but I’m glad they did. Not like they had a choice though LOL. Yes I suppose I see the path into real estate being good at math.
