@@HinReview birds dont care for their children that much watch any video on a coo coo birds and their chicks the parent bird will leave the egg in another nest then go off and do its thing. while that same baby will throw all the other babies out the nest in egg or as hatchling in front of the parent and there will be no reaction by the parent or attempt to push the baby back down. it looks over " oh dang.... oh well back to sitting"

Watching many bird nest..mostly I see the parent birds when they lose eggs or chicks directly to a predator they fight to keep the predator away..while at the nest...and know the outcome when the predator has taken one...But will look around for missing chick or egg for a while..But if when they come back and... see something is missing ...yes they look around to see what is missing..but go back to instincts to take care of young that is left....and will continue to bring food to the nest..When all the young or eggs are destroyed..parent birds will try to keep bringing food a few times and look around for young..eventually they abandon the nest.... They only have instincts to continue their speices, they don't have the human emotion that we do...They can not really count.,..but may realize that something is missing in the nest....and look around for it briefly, but move on...eagle's nest are the most drastic, as older chicks can peck youngest chick to death and parent bird does nothing....you can see them also on you tube...

That's so sad. But I think it was 2 babies that went missing. There was an egg that was hatching the first day and then it was gone. I think it hatched and whatever got the other baby also got it. To bad you can't watch the nest all the time then we'd know what happened. Good video even through the sadness! Keep it up and Thank You for sharing!

You say the mother is sad. In fact, it is sitting In nest as usual and as long as there stay one at least, it won't notice and moreover, for it, babies are not beings : they brood for the specie not for self flourishing and most of parents birds won't fight to protect their offsprings.
