I’m so happy you did this one!! While a hard movie to watch, especially the baby scene, the whole concept and metaphor are so good! I think this one is under appreciated!

So incredibly well done!!!😄😄😄 but ya the baby scene can f outta my life honestly 😩

I have to say although I love this movie, I’ve never watched the bad parts and probably couldn’t. I caught on to the biblical allegory pretty quickly and figured the baby’s birth would end tragically…. (Christ being crucified and all) so I kept my eyes and ears closed. Cannibalism is a hard no for me in any film. Why I don’t watch a lot of survival/stranded/shipwrecked films. My ability to appreciate this movie has everything to do with the fact I’ve never seen those images and they aren’t burned in my skull. I’m sorry that happened

Yeah this movie was insane but an underrated gem imo. The entire movie we as the audience are left feeling more and more frustrated alongside Jennifer Laurence and in the end that’s exactly what Aronofsky wanted, for us to see things in mother earths perspective and how we as humans can be very careless to earth. Brilliant
@lifehasfactz8194 Жыл бұрын
I agree that it is brilliant but I don’t agree that it’s underrated. When it first came out people hated it but then it grew it’s fanbase a little after like now it has a big fanbase but when it first came out it was under appreciated due to the lack of people understanding it

Yes Javier is the representation of God, Jennifer is Mother Earth, the man and the woman are Adam and Eve, their sons are Caine and Abel, and his book is the bible. The movie represents how everyone takes religion and uses it as they see fit and how it changes to each person. Also how their actions affect the earth. God sees these people and their actions but still sees the best in them where Jennifer is seeing the evil that they do and it’s represented in how they treat the house. Just truly mind blowing. But this is always just one interpretation, the movie leaves this up to the watcher to interpret, which is even better. You can check the cast names and no one has names just husband, wife, man, woman, follower, son, etc…

@maverickbull1909 Жыл бұрын
You're funny... but you totally missed the entire point of the movie. Stop taking it literally... Everything is a metaphor. It's amazing. The husband is god, the wife is mother earth, the old man was adam (he has a wound near his rib in the bathroom and we know eve was created from adams rib), the woman was eve, they went into the garden of eden and broke something even tho they were told not to. They're banished by God and start hooking up in another room. Their sons were cain and abel. Cain killed abel. When the sink breaks that represents the flood and in the christian myth god purifies the earth with water first and the next time will be with FIRE. The child is christ, who is given to the world and is killed by the world. The world eats of his flesh and drinks his blood (communion) but they continue being awful, fighting, and destroying the house (the planet). Lastly, everyone dies as the earth has nothing left to give and destroys everything with FIRE. The ending is up for interpretation, but God ultimately wants to create and wants to be worshipped. So, he starts everything over with a new earth to repeat the cycle. As a creator, it is what he does for all eternity. It's all a metaphor, with the house being the environment and all the people being the world/humanity, destroying the planet and doing whatever they want.

Good catch piecing it together at the end there! I have a bit of a religious beackground and also started to wonder at the end if it was a metaphor for God and Jesus and all that but once reading about it, the movie all makes sense. Javier is God, Jlaw is Mother Earth, the first people were Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel and it's cool how they had the funeral at their house, showing all their family members which reflects after adam and eve had their sons their family grew. Then of course Javier wrote the bible which is why everyone took it differently, and then you see the chaos and destruction humans then have to earth once God lets them into their home/earth. Smart movie but I could've done without seeing the literal sharing of the body of Christ though!
@crystalscolza1663 Жыл бұрын

She is Mother Earth and he is god and the child I think is Jesus from all the metaphors him writing his “book” the Bible All of his “fans” followers are there to hear his wisdom and stay in “his home” Mother Earth, and humanity’s distraction of it ! soooo interesting and I’m not even super religious but that’s what I picked up to the extent of the man showing up as Adam and the woman as Eve -even tho they’re related to the parents (separate that) And the two brothers representing Cain and able and how Cain killed his brother

@lifehasfactz8194 Жыл бұрын
@@filmfreakbecky oh okay, I understand. Just me personally I could handle Terrifier 1 & 2 more than the baby scene. Especially the baby’s ate body was way too much cause I didn’t even know that it was allowed to be on screen because I’ve never seen a movie go as far as that. While I’ve seen many gory movies idk I just didn’t think it was allowed for them to do that to a baby, I know it isn’t like a rule or anything, it just feels like an unspoken rule. Seeing it done to a baby just feels more insane than if I was to see it done to like an adult person & I could handle most things but the baby just really made me feel a type of way. It rocked me to my core & made me afraid to be a parent in the future because babies really have stiff fragile necks when they’re born & you have to hold them carefully or that could actually happen which is just scary, luckily I don’t have to worry about being a parent for many years but just the thought of how easy a baby could die just like that is terrifying

Holly Molly and mexican guacamole. This movie is brilliant and your reaction to it is hilarious and outrageous simultaneously. It's like giving a toddler a philosophy book and ask him to make an essay on what he got out of it after reading. Not to mention all the disrespectful and trivial comments on different topics, especially on more aged folks. Age it's just a number, hermanita. Don't worry, you'll get there, if only. Not everything in life gravitates around one's inner tighs. The attitude is creepy funny. If I may ask, who raised you, the cartels? Jesus Christ, if I had a daughter or a sister with this smug behavior, boy, oh boy, there would be a breaking news at some point 📰💯😅. But I admit, you're a wonderful study case even if I don't have some key issue data concerning you, Becky G spot (ugh).
