As a midwife , I can say that that cardiac arrest is a complication post delivery. I have seen it, it happens very, very, quick. A blood clot or even a small piece of fat ( fat embolism can cause it). This is why we encourage walking and moving asap after birth. In a case of C- section or other pre- existing heart ailments , the patient has a compresson device applied to the lower legs or even treated with anti- coagulants. It is rare but can still happen. Very sad though. RIP young lady.

I've been admitted in hospital (not childbirth) and i was given compression stockings because you can get blood clots. I was told to move around even though I had them on. This is in the UK. Doing little walking around helps whilst you're in the hospital and being discharged. R.I.P 🙏🏽

I forgot to mention even the amniotic fluid can cause an embolism and lead to a heart attack. Pregnancy can be risky. Very sad

I did a surgery in November and they gave me heparin before and after surgery when I got discharge from the hospital they prescribe clexane for me for 10 days, three weeks after surgery I started vomiting blood clot the wound got infected also so I end up in hospital again, thank God for the wonderful doctors and nurses at uwi hospital they save my life

People people, surrender your soul to God , because none of us knows when we are going to die. When we do,no matter how many good things is said about us, if our hearts is not right, we going to hell. The most absurd thing I see is people looking at their dead young ones in a casket, crying their hearts out, then go back to how they live, no change. That’s crazyness, we need some serious preacher who will tell these people about brimstone and fire this is no joke. We are not affected by death anymore, more young people are dying than the old. When I was a kid, if someone in our age group passed,that affects the whole community, now someone passed and it like a party, alcohol and money in caskets and buggy pulled caskets, every man gonna have to give an account there will be no excuse. Everyone has access to a bible because they have a phone. May God have mercy upon us!! Wake up folks

I agree with you too many unprofessional and heartless people who claim to be nurses and doctors, they have not sympathy and do not care, sometimes I wonder if it's just to say they are nurses and doctors. Recently I heard instead of doing a C- section on a teenager after the mother negged them because the girl was having a difficult labor, they let her have the baby natural she died shortly after. Can nurses be so inhumane because she was only 14 years old, they let her suffer like that. This also happened at Spanish town hospital. They need to start suspending license or suing, it could be their family member why so evil to the sick. I am sure they have kids, and they know how painful it is to give birth so to those evil, heartless doctors and nurses do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Damn not because a teenager get pregnant you all have to let them suffer and treat them badly no one is friggin perfect not you, me anyone. Some or most Jamaican nurses are so inhumane it is sad😭😭😭😭😭

Cardiac arrest?? Secondary to WHAT?? The heart stops always when someone dies, but WHAT caused a healthy mother to die from cardiac arrest a day after birth!! This autopsy said nothing. Did she get a blood clot, air embolus in her blood stream, did she bleed out?? The family must ask WHAT caused the cardiac arrest, it is not normal!!

The person speaking in the comment uses certain words, hence, l wanted to know what that means as there is no such thing in the eyes of God as a common law husband. Jamaican gov bring that about, after Desnose & Geddes law suit. Where the man marries a younger woman and the one he was with for many yrs would not get anything as they were not married. So a woman can live with a man for certain amount of yrs and aquires things without marriage.
