@@CJ-hz1uj Yes, well, when doing experiments as an undergraduate in organic chemistry the entire 3 story science building had to be evacuated for the day because even the hazmat people were having trouble getting into the lab I had mixed up something I got into no trouble. Why? Because everybody was happy to take the day off. They knew it was me because of my habit of washing my hands with concentrated sulfuric acid to show off. Who else could breathe the noxious fumes and not complain? My sweat was so acidic when I was young that I had to change the latex gloves every 10 minutes in anatomy class. They would first turn dark brown and fall off my hands in pieces. I of course was elected to saw the cadaver in half with a hand saw. However, the thanksgiving evening I literally blew up my kitchen with the entire meal prepared for 30 people; well the women were not happy. Especially when I said "no problem, I'll order pizza". The men and grandchildren loved it though. I was barred from the kitchen over a year. I would tell you about other members of my family but each "peculiar person" would take their own book to do justice. Only would mention Mishu, our now dead black cat, who decided to stick her but into my armpit at 3AM so I would midwife her as she gave birth. The kids were small then and my wife called them to see it. They kept going on about, "you see, Mishu knows Dad's a Doctor." Anyway, 2 months ago I spent 5 hours explaining things to the FBI, again, no charges will be filed. I just don't seem to fit "the parameters" but nothing I do is illegal, just unusual. Like having homeless men in our house to detox not as part of any program. Or cooking up medicine in the kitchen, no controlled substances, just stuff. I am NIH certified and principal investigator at 2 human research centers. I was great when the kids went to kindergarten for show and tell. I would have them answer to the whole class when asked, "what does your daddy do?" He makes and recommends drugs. I would also make whymes out of their Dr notes. Long and epic stories of rhyme. My wife with her clam elitist Morticia pose would explain at the parent teacher meetings about me. Mi querida. Yes, we are all immortal. I am not joking.

John Astin and Lisa Loring, who played Gomez and Wednesday Addams, respectively, are the only surviving cast members of the original series.

@Estrella That would be Raul Juliá, who played Gomez in the two live-action movies. He passed away in 1994, shortly before the release of the Street Fighter movie where he played M. Bison. John Astin was the first actor to portray Gomez, and he's still alive and well.

The show (in my opinion) is so much better than movie adaptations. The strange and unusual behavior is charming. The newer adaptations are just in your face and trying so hard to be edgy. This is a family that thinks they are completely normal when they are actually uniquely dark. Fantastic execution and interpretation.

One of my favorite Addams Family episodes. Lurch is hilarious pulling the rope and it falls off, getting the " You Rangs " mixed up with Gomez, trying to make eyes at Morticia, trying to act masterful, and Ellen Corby as the insufferable mother.
