Mother Mother I don't know how to explain it: your original songs and music videos are always of high quality and interest. However, each and every time you perform an acoustic/session/unplugged/studio/call it what you want variant, these modified versions blow me away almost every time. They are not ''better'' than the original per se, however I do find that they are a superb addition to the existing songs by adding to what a specific song is (in this case ''It's alright''). It's like having your favorite ice cream in different dips and coatings: still the same ice cream but gosh do you treat each one with different approaches ;P

My grandmother, the woman who raised me when my mom wasn't present and my father was constantly working recently passed away this year. She had such a significant impact on my life, a lot of my memories reside in her home and around. We visited her 2 days before she had to go to the hospital, and her last words were 'ill be okay, I love you'. That night I acted out. I got drunk and got into a fight at a bar in my hometown, screamed at my siblings and just all around acted on emotion. We then discovered that she passed away. I just remember driving home from the airport,my sister had this song playing and I look over and she has tears streaming down her face. My family forgives me for the way I acted, and I couldn't forgive myself. This song reminds me of that moment of my sister, in her most vulnerable state, still bring forgiving because she knows it affected all of us in strange ways. Thank you for this song.

why am i crying? I mean, feeling like a monster without honor for years and firmly believe I deserve worst for what I've done and now I see, i was just a child making mistakes, so hard to forgive my self... Omg. Just yesterday one of my best friends came out of nowhere shouting at me for basically no reason, like i’m the worst human on this earth, i cried all day but i wrote her the longest message i have ever in my life written before like i forgive her because i loved her and the only respond was like ”k. bye.” and i ended up saying she should kill herself and i can’t take it back. Now i found this on my youtube recommend list and i’m crying all over again. I love you guys. This song always helps me through my days and makes me feel more accepting towards my mistakes i’ve done. I like it. Not exactly what I would normally call an "acoustic version", which would be just the singers with an unplugged acoustic guitar. Feels more like a darker, 90's grunge version complete with drums and accompanying instrumentals to me. Very much reminds me of Kurt Cobain's style. I personally like the other version better as I find it more uplifting when I'm feeling down, but if you want to wrap yourself up in your feelings of despair this is good too.
@devilkyn15 жыл бұрын
@@rem7701 To be fair I did say "what I would normally call" and attempted to give the mental imagery of a singer playing a wooden guitar and just singing. I also never claimed to be an expert. I do appreciate you taking a moment to reach out to me though, and educate me a bit. Does it matter that he is playing an electric guitar (I think), or would it have to be plugged into an amp or something to make it "non-acoustic"? Not trying to be a smart-alec, I really am curious.

I know the band almost certainly won't see this comment. But I just saw mother mother live for their inside tour at the start of this month (may 2022). I'd never heard the acoustic version of it's alright before, but it's a song that reassured me and meant a lot to me when I was in a very bad place with life and my mental health, especially at the start of the pandemic. Hearing the acoustic version for the first time and it being a live performance, it brought tears to my eyes. I really wanted to hear it again and I was really happy to find this on their official KZbin channel and I felt the same thing, it nearly brought me to tears. I'm considering getting part of the lyrics as a tattoo one day, as I'd like to remember to forgive myself and to be kind in the future. Thank you so much Mother mother. You always release an album when I need it most. I've felt so much catharsis and release from your music over the years, and I will always try to see you live whenever you come to Edmonton because you put on an amazing show.
