I have ptsd, and I listen to this on the nights where I am so afraid of my abusers coming to “find me” that I can’t sleep. I’m aware it’s irrational...I shut all the blinds. Lights stay on. I hug a pillow and wait for this overwhelming fear to go away, while I’m always on guard. “I keep the lights on so I don’t slip away.”

Irrational is ok, find help if you need it, ptsd is a medical condition not a character flaw, whatever you need to feel better is worth it. I hope one day you will get better. Abuse is horrible and if you need to reach out then do it, be afraid, that is ok be sad, but remember you deserve to be happy.

I love how Mother Mother is capable of so many different genres and sounds at the same time and the fact that the vocalists are all so different from each other and have such different voices that they're able to create such beautiful harmony in such different ways, their sound is so unique which is incredibly hard these days, it's the perfect balance of 70s, 80s, 90s and their own entire different decade. I can't believe that this is by the same band that made Hayloft and Burning Pile it's amazing.

Okay hear me out! Sally face fans! Imagine the ending of chapter four in like a TV show style where Sal has just been told by Addison to go kill everyone. He exits Addisons room and this song starts playing. Then everything goes in slow motion as the lights of the hall way flicker on and off. We see the shadows of the people getting murdered and Sal come outside to flashing lights and police cars. He puts his hands up dropping the knife and sees Ash crying and struggling to go talk to him. Cut to the trial scene and the judge giving him the death sentence. And Ash is crying trying to tell the judge that it wasn’t his fault. Then we see Ash a few years later rushing to go save Sal before he gets executed and get evidence and then by the very end we just see her screaming at the door and banging on it holding up a photo of Larry. Screen goes black. End credits. THE MURDER SCENE WOULD BE SLOW MOTION AND SO WOULD ASH SCREAMING AT THE DOOR. CAN SOMEONE MAKE IT HAPPEN? Edit: thank you so much for the likes

This reminds me of the time when I was little and moved into a bad apartment, the walls were thin and I could hear yelling, or fighting, and I always had bad dreams there, like to the point where I'd wake up crying, I'd stay up late at night with a weapon of some sorts, like my bb gun or my hatchet, I'd watch over me and my sister to make sure no one broke in, luckily i moved out of there after a few years but I'm still really paranoid. I made some good memories though, like taming the feral cats and raising her babies

@ItzJuanG Жыл бұрын
This song is such a good ending to the album. All of it works amazingly. The first part where it's calm and slow, introducing you to the character's behavior. The second part keeps it interesting by getting faster and having stronger instrumentation as it prepares you to its fastest part. The lyrics also get more severe as the character does more drastic stuff to stay hidden. The third part just throws everything it has to give end to not only itself but the album. You also get a peek at what might have gotten the character in this situation in the first place. The song ends just as it started as maybe a way to suggest that this might be neverending for the character or that, maybe, they finally got to sleep. Sorry for the maybe nonsensical dump, I just really like this song and wanted to talk about it.

aight coming clean. Mother Mother is a guilty pleasure. I wouldn't be caught dead listening to this, but i really enjoy it. and for anyone wondering why. I live a cushy life, I have nothing to relate to this genre of music. Always imagined this song was about a parent who got tangled in some sort of mafia after their spouse got killed by them, and had to join to keep their kid safe. After awhile of being in the gang they plan to escape and eventually manage to try and drive away but are chased down by the leader and his minions. Towards the end their car flips and goes off road after a sharp turn and lands close to a town. They end up dying, but the baby lives cause they protected it with their body, doing the one thing they promised. The baby is found by the townspeople, who care for it. Haven't really thought of anything else for this song, but you guys can add on to it if you want
