Motherboard dead but PSU survives after power surge! - LIVE PC REPAIR

Fans came on when loosening the 24 pin so it was probably just an issue with the 5v circuits on the board

Yeah it's pretty weird normally its just the PSU that dies in a power surge these days.

May i ask some question, i once has my pc but i wrong picked the psu, its over my house can handle, so it happen power outage, later my vga and motherboard both dead but the other components is okay, now i test the components again after a years and got the psu is okay, but lost my motherboard and VGA, just in case avoiding this to happen next time i have instaled AVR to my PC, is it enough to cover some kind of problem I've encounter?

Hard to know specifically what occured. A power outtage isn't going to do any damage. A power surge will.
