This episode was amazing. I applaud Taylor and Ashley for the portrayal of grief. You could see that Abigail was lost since she has not experienced it before while it was devastating for Raelle to have to experience it again after her mother`s death. It broke me to see Raelle so sad but it was a great indication that the girls could find common ground and sisterhood after this. Love the scene on the beach.

Well made! This season is kicking off very well. These past two episodes have strengthened my bond with this show. The character portrayals and the chemistry we see on screen are phenomenal, but even greater is the world you are creating around them that continues to expand and provide outer conflicts and plotlines that continue to add to its foundation. I'm excited for the future of this series!

The acting by Taylor, Ashley, and Jessica was all spot on in this very emotional episode. You could almost feel the heartbreak of Raelle, the PTSD symptoms of Abigail, and the internal conflict of Tally. I love this show and fell in love with Raelle and Scylla even though I knew it would not last. Statistically, gay couple do not get happy endings and the better the chemistry they have the faster the relationship is over. I will continue to watch the show, because I love the history and backstory of this different world. But what the hell was the "mushroom project thing, Raelle found"

This week's episode hit it out of the park. We got two very different portrayals of grief and trauma that were presented magnificently by the actors. You could feel their raw emotions emanating from the screen and it hurt to not be able to offer the characters comfort. I also like the Bellweather plot twist and the introduction of the Tarim characters - that's going to prove interesting in future episodes. Kudos to everyone who worked on this episode. It was so brilliantly executed.

@Ordinarias P, the actress (Taylor) is a little bit forgetful because her character (Raelle) have told Scilla "I love you" in episode 2 or 3 and Scilla mentioned something about not being able to open up or something to that effect...I was trying to find a clip of it but could not....Unless it was another reality/universe I saw it in.

Nathalie Wilson when I bumped into your comment I literally reviewed from ep1, and the closest words was when Scylla says "I like you" to Raelle, this one was on ep4 the morning after Beltane.
@officialymutera4 жыл бұрын
literally it was Scylla's character to say "I like you" (ep4 after Beltane) and "I love you" (ep5 during their last dance), and Raelle wasn't the one confirming or responding to it until ep7 happened 😭💔

This show brought me the Claymore manga spirit, with badass women, soldier sisterhood in a complex military context (maybe the true villain is the military itself, not the Spree), which fascinates me very much. I truly enjoy the outstanding concept, it differs Motherland from mediocre witch drama, regardless of its idea about sexual orientation or feminism. I don't understand the toxic masculinity some people put on this amazing show, which drags the IMDB rate of Motherland. Because of many undeserved 1-star reviews, the real rating of this show is far below the average mean (the average mean is 7.7, a very worth seeing rating and IMDB counts for 6.3). So please if you like this show as much as I do, please please create an account in IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, and rate it as you feel it. This show is incredibly interesting and deserves many more seasons.

I love this show so far but this episode made me yawn a lot! I understand this is the aftershock of last weeks trauma and tragedy and it’s a reserved but complex vibe dealing with grief but I was bored sorry! In every great series there’s always that one episode that floated you through the story and was your least favorite, I think this was my least favorite episode! But I’ll be here for next weeks episode! What’s gonna happen to Scylla? She’s the most interesting complex character so Far! Love this show, love the unique story line with witches as soldiers etc but to me the love stories are not it’s most interesting concepts!! This is the first episode I was tempted to skip ahead! I would’ve enjoyed seeing more of what retribution they planned for Scylla but I guess they needed to close with the WOW factor! It’s nice to see the three amigos caring for each other and finally working as a unit! That was beautiful!

Getting that creepy feeling of oversimplification that military is bad and the opposite of love etc, I hope I'm wrong and the show is more complex and nuanced than that. I find it great entertainment if it does not get too heavy handed and bogged down with preaching to the audience and these days for better or for worse TV shows always like to have some absurd cataclysmic twist at end of season. I love the world building and the problem is I'm that viewer always hungering for the spectacle, like maybe some combat action that involves more than balloons. No complaints about that fight scene last week which was amazing and I think I saw a split-second in some trailer where they wind shear an entire speeding bus. The cool stuff that sparks my imagination unfortunately is usually only dialogue because the budget might not match the expectation. I'd love to see a flashback of the battle Raelle's mother was in with "sand turning to glass and they having to cut her out of it" or the brave actions of General Alder's "shitbird" saving her life several times or perhaps even the battle described by Abigail's bodyguard. My biggest fear is that it turns into the old General Alder created the spree to perpetuate war, maintain power and budget and the show turns into a whole "fuck you for your service" type deal. The conflict of these individuals in a military context and the dangers ahead is what keeps me waiting for the next episode.
