Watching this interview again in preparation for season three. I was really struck by the the discussion Amalia and Adam had about the difference between “freedom from” and “freedom to”. The freedom to love another vs freedom from an unhelpful system, threat, frame, or understanding of the world. This is incredibly important because we all have access to the “freedom to” create joy and love even if we are not in a state of “freedom from” frames and spaces that do not allow us to live wholly into ourselves without stress, shall we say. I think a lot about this as someone who wrestles with the shame associated with a religious upbringing and a deep love for a lot of the frames religion provides which is life giving. thank you both for the time you both invested to have this conversation. It was a really fun way to delve deeper into a good story (Motherland Fort Salem) which has helped put case studies to really complex realities.

Amelia has a wide range of acting skills, just perfectly amazing specially in season 1 episode 7, always on point in each expression for all complicated scenes. Absolutely amazing chemistry with Taylor. Both have amazing performances. Really bad ass, really enjoyed her playfully playing the devilish protagonist. In person she seems an old soul, matured, deep and interestingly mysterious. Love and stayed watching bec of Amalia and Taylor's performances. Please more seasons. She was 25 at the time of this interview and and she sounds like a 40 y/o. I really like the way she expresses herself, sometimes she looses the words but her answers are not that simple, she gives a good thought before answering every question and gives you context and makes her conversation very interesting, it makes you want to listen to her a lot more. She looks indeed very interesting apart from being beautiful of curse. I look forward to hear more from her and watch new projects.

Love the analogy with Harry Potter. What Amelia said is right, the people from Gryffindor’s are considered by default the good ones, and underneath could be pricks, convinced they are the perfect house, the good ones, a little bit like Cedric. Whereas Snape, who is from Slytherin has done the most pure an honest sacrifice during the whole story, more than anyone in the Gryffindor’s house, he loves Harry throughout the honest and pure loved he felt for Lily and he didn’t care to be hated to keep with his mission to protect Harry. Scyllia found redemption in Raelle’s love and that is great. I guess that to forgive people, they need to find peace and love otherwise is impossible to redeem someone from their past misdeeds.

Well, I watch this interview once again, don’t really know why, perhaps I just enjoy listening to Amalia perhaps. I just loved when she talked about Taylor. Almost gushing, she sounded so cute, and about their instant connection after they met. Her body language tells me of her honest appreciation of Taylor’s talent and friendship. It almost seems like having a bit of a crush on Taylor. She I watch Taylor’s interview I notice a bit of the same reactions when Taylor speaks of Amalia. ☺️😉. Perhaps I’m just imagining…?
