Tudung can be a personal choice if the place you are in is not a conservative place. Cause if you live in a conservative area n you don't wear a tudung you gonna find yourself in a lot of trouble.

hi im 14 and i have been wearing tudung for 3 months now, it took me a wile to make te decision but it was my choice. i had to ensure my intentions were rigt etc. tb its been great and i think more people are able to accept muslims at this modern time :)

Modestly doesn't mean cover up from neck to toe. This is extreme wearing. Modesty is normal decent dressing. No too short shirts or too low cut in front of the chest or off shoulders. Dress up modestly means normal normal with presentable. Not below pleasant look.

I don't think it is a big issue in the first place. As to whether you wear tudung or not it doesn't affect our life at all. After all, when the weather is hot, you are one who have to bear with the discomfort. For this, I salute for your courage and decision. I was surprised when the govt brought up this issue months back. I thought the population should be more knowledgeable and mature to accept tudung. It is no threat to the society We have no right to interfere. You have every right to wear it.

Simple, if I force u wear tight fitting Qi pao a type of Chinese dress or fancy sari to do all the cleaning of my house. Do u think a new type of dressing in a different environment that you are not familiar won't hinder your work? Be more considerate towards others or simply put yourself in the position of them and think. It's common sense that wearing something you are not familiar with and doing something new can be inconvenience else there won't even have the no tudung rule. Just because you are a malay doesn't expect this whole earth only got malay 1 race. Even if only 1 malay race, that malay could be Indian or even nonya instead of Muslim religion.

Dressing modestly is also a fashion, isn't it? There are casual or low-key "fashion styles" after all. What is fashion or is it only exclusively the types that are overly flamboyant and flaunting? So to say a religious obligation merging into fashion is the same as religion influencing dietary cuisines of its adherents. Its just a natural process, nothing bad about it.

Even Muslims themselves cannot agree if it's mandatory to wear the tudung or if its a personal choice. Just read the comments on Facebook or reddit and you'll get a different interpretation compared to what's being said on this video. On reddit r/singapore, Muslims saying its mandatory will get plenty of upvotes while anyone saying its not are downvoted. There is a current trend on Singapore social media of the narrative that tudung wearing is mandatory according to the quran.

In public, we must also strive not to come into contact with them as they are very sacred. I always avoided sitting next to them in public transport. In case when there is a sudden brake, I may accidentally bump into them. But frequently I saw ladies in tudungs here smoking openly. It was quite a sight.

In eateries, special arrangements must be made for halal and non halal. But at the same time now, seems that it is possible to give and take for a Muslim? Being something which is obligated, first foremost the wisdom for such obligation has always been with Our Creator regardless if we’re able to comprehend it or not. But from the many wisdoms behind it is for the protection of our womenfolks, not an oppression. This protection does not limit to oneself, but it’ll impact the wellbeing of our society. Similar to the wisdom behind having men to lower their gaze. Ultimately you can conclude the meaning of being a muslim is to submit ones own desire to Allah. And who knows better how to abstain oneself from evil if not by the One who created Mankind in the first place.

It might not have been popular but it doesn't mean that there weren't any women who were wearing it. It was a different time and perhaps due to the lack of knowledge amongst the majority of Muslims in those times. Christian nuns have been wearing their version of the tudung for centuries too, suggesting that such clothing has its roots in the Abrahamic faiths.
