Takes a lot of practice. It’s possible do freehand embroidery on any sewing machine that you’re able to lower the feed dogs. The person in video is using a machine made for freehand embroidery. Juki LZ 271. On this machine the knee lifter controls with width of the zig zag motion. If you don’t press it then you have a straight stitch. I have the same machine now but I started out doing this style of embroidery on a Singer Heavy Duty. You can get one at Walmart for around $200 usd. If you have the determination any sewing machine can be used for hand controlled embroidery. Years of practice.
