Awesome stuff Harvey using Keil Figgins for your rigger was a great idea and also Ive worked with Eric before for capturing mocap and he is amazing at what he does. Excited for you and for all the people who take the course. Wish you the best and hope this thing takes off for you

Hey York, thanks a million brother! Highly appreciated and yeah both Kiel and Eric are brilliant to work with so it was a no brainer to bring them along. I hope it proves successful as well, let's see, keeping my fingers crossed for sure :D

Thanks for responding so quickly to my other question! Last question: Will your workflow for making run cycles, stops and starts from mocap and pose overlaying (e.g. changing unarmed animations to rifle-carrying, etc) be in part 1 of the course? I've been working through all my MVN Link mocap dance cards to build out different sets for UE5.4's motion matching, but my workflow is definitely slower and more painful than I'd like it to be.
@harveynewman3 ай бұрын
Yes we will get there, part one will get you most of the way there but if you have lots of files to process you might want to wait until part 2 comes out. Either way keep in mind that processing lots of motion capture takes time even when you use powerful tools and plugins.

Woo, looking forward! Hope it goes well!!! 🤞 Does the course share the process of planning and recording mocap shoots? I'm super curious how big studios do mocap shoots differently, like if there is any industry trade secrets to it

Really cool that you're teaching this cause as you said not a lot of people teach mocap for animators and there's a bunch of opportunities for it in the industry. Gonna get the early bird promo myself! Thank you for doing this!

Hey George, yeah going back to that idea of the amount of time I spent working on this, it needed to be a character I am passionate about otherwise I would run out of steam :D Thanks for watching and I hope to see you over there in the course community

I bought the course Early Bird! I'm looking forward to the classes. I already work with motion capture for cinematics, but I always try to update myself and look for different methods. I bought Richard Lico's course at the beginning of the year and I highly recommend it too. I'm from Brazil, sorry for my bad English

Ola Raphael. Tudo bem. Muito Obrigado! And I hope you enjoy the course as much as Richard's he's really good at teaching and breaking down complex subjects. And thanks a million for purchasing the course, looking forward to seeing you on the close group and more than happy to answer any questions you might have over there.

Hi, since this course is made in Maye, does this course make sense for someone who has never used this program? Is it better to learn the basics of the program first?
@harveynewman3 ай бұрын
Hey there, good question and you can follow along with no problems even if you are not familiar with Maya as I go through the Maya settings you need to use step by step for Motion capture and also show you all the steps you need to take to import and clean mocap, plus how to active plugins and more. So there's plenty there but it should be all easy to understand and follow along. ;)
