I love how the getting hit/hitting a civilian animations are so dramatic. Reminds me of Thrill Drive.

There was this amusement center/arcade in my area called Boomers that had both of the Police 911 cabinets and they were always the games I immediately hopped on whenever I'd go there. I"m kind of surprised that Konami never ported the games to the WIi, or at least made a spin off game or something since I don't know how well the full body motion tracking would've panned out. Maybe one day someone will make make a spiritual successor for VR.

Ahhh... I remember this game. I used to play it on the PS2 in around 2006/07 when I had a lightgun and was looking for some lightgun games for my new PS2 at the time. That's when I came across this game, known as Police 24/7 in where I live (Europe). I do remember the very weird comic book-live coverart that we got for the version I have in Europe. As the game played so much like Time Crisis to me, as I was a big fan of that game, it was really right up my alley.
@VideoGameEsoterica

@@VideoGameEsoterica Oh and interestingly, aside from the sound effects, even the traffic car models and police cars from the Japan and USA courses from Thrill Drive have also been recycled for this game as I have noticed. I didn't know about Thrill Drive at the time I played the PS2 port, until I looked at the game again and noticed that the cars came from Thrill Drive.
@VideoGameEsoterica
@VideoGameEsoterica Жыл бұрын
So much of the library for Viper is mix and match assets. Which makes sense…you really wouldn’t notice borrowing a car model from a racing game and popping it into Police 911 for the most part

They still have one of these in good condition at an arcade in Shinsekai in Osaka (interesting how they made some gameplay changes to fit the horizontal aspect ratio of the PS2). I've searched super hard to find that specific USB camera that lets me play on PS2, I heard rumors that you could use other types of webcams but I never got specifics.

Hey man great upload! I really need to know though, is it possible to emulate Police 911 2 with the motion controls on PC? It's in my top 3 all-time favorite arcade games along with Virtual On and Brave Firefighters. I just don't want to go buy the hardware for it if I don't have to, you know? Thanks in advance!
