There's a specific article Chris Motionless wrote himself saying that with this they're making it how THEY want it to sound,not how everyone else wants them to. I for one love this album, and I'm glad the band decided to do what they did.

I honestly don't like the industrial sound they decided to go with in their newer stuff. Makes it sound too much like Marilyn manson. I'm tryna listen to MIW not Marilyn manson. I bought their infamous album years ago at hot topic (lol) and was pretty disappointed.

Motionless In White always produce amazing albums which sound like no other album out there ? They aren't sell outs for changing their sound they are just progressing as a band, its called musicianship and they definitely have it.

You guys are really judging Chris on his vocals because he really found a great sound for his voice and how to create amazing melodies with it? Come on, guys, bands change their sound. Granted- some DO change their sound to get fame and popularity, yes. But Chris and the band have said that they haven't been totally contempt with their sound in previous albums; so they've been exploring so they can find their right sound. If you don't like it, then don't listen! Don't beat these guys up with your unnecessarily harsh criticism. They work so hard to do what they do and don't deserve to be ridiculed mercilessly and told that they're failure and shit. How would YOU feel if you worked on something for years and finally showed people and they said all of these mean things? I bet you'd be pretty bummed. So give the guys a break. They're working hard to do what they love and what they hope we'll love along with them and if not, then tough shit; go elsewhere for your music.

Everyone who is complaining about it being like Marilyn Manson yes it is true they do sound like him (that does NOT mean they are copying him). I personally like to look at it like MIW you can relate to in an emotional since, while you look up to MM as an intelligence god. Just my opinion (could have been more clear but I am too lazy)

MIW said the reissue of infamous was closer to what they wanted to sound like. They may have changed their sound significantly with this album, just as they did with infamous, creatures wasn't as drastic a change from WLMD but it was definitely a change. Even WLMD was a change from the whorror, I mean just when you thought we couldn't get any more emo, black, and we put the fun in funeral were a totally different style than WLMD. And even the whorror was a big change from their demo, in which they were basically a post hardcore band. They have always evolved their sound, they have never settled on one sound. But if you listen to the music, you can tell it's the same band. They have a style of their own which is subtle and can be seen across all their materiel. They leaned more towards straight metalcore with creatures and WLMD, but they have always been a gothic metalcore band with industrial and electronic influences, the gothic, dark and horror themes are constant. The songwriting is consistently Chris's style, they aren't a generic band, they are always growing and changing their sound and expanding their influences. And that's a great thing. They aren't sellouts, they do what they want to do with their music.

You guys have to understand, a true band does not keep the same sound album after album. They're going to change, no matter whether you like them or not. Manson has always been one of Motionless in White's biggest influences and they obviously showed it in this album. But if you listened to their really old stuff, you could also hear the Manson influence in them. I guarentee their next album is going to be nothing like this one, and it's people are going to talk shit. But you know what, good for you Motionless in White. You guys keep doing what you love and making your true fans happy. Much thanks.

They really aren't even metalcore anymore, this is pretty much just industrial metal with occasional screams. Some of the songs on this album are metalcore, but most aren't. Listen to the guitars, breakdowns are few and far apart, that's the first big indicator.
@CourtlandMiller1994
@CourtlandMiller1994 10 жыл бұрын
Alex Black Its like still Metalcore, but done well. It has strong strains of electronic, industrial and gothic metal, almost to the point of not being recognizable as metalcore. But thats a good thing, it means they are broadening the genre. I think they will eventually completely crossover, theyre close now but there is still the Metalcore undercurrent in this. I mean, imagine if every thrash band had sounded like Metallica. But Slayer branched out and helped form Death metal, Anthrax did the same with Speed Metal, but theyre still considered thrash bands. MIW is branching out and expanding their sound and its great for the band, for the fans, and for the genre.

Actually, I also listen to a wide variety and know quite a bit about music theory, from skramz to doom metal, and this does contain the undercurrent of Metalcore, although like I said it is to the point of almost being unrecognizable as such, and is heavily Industrial Metal and Gothic Rock focused.

I feel this album is their experimental compilation. They have so many different songs with different influences that it feels like they are just releasing them all to get a feel for which direction they can grow. I like this. Not as good as Infamous and Creatures, sure, but it's great to see the evolution.

Tim Skold is their producer. He use to be in Marilyn Manson. But regardless, MIW has always been influenced my Marilyn Manson. I have no problem with it whatsoever. I love Marilyn Manson. Wasn't your average 11 year old lol. Instead if listening to Britney Spears, I was blasting Marilyn Manson.

A love metaphor indicating that every action ever made in the end in the long run always is a narcissistic action? Take for the example that you could not marry a person that you hate, just for their pleasure. You have always either choose between love and wealth when it comes to marriage, never pity.
