The plot is confusing because Largo Wich is actually a COMIC BOOK Philippe Francq and Jean Van Hamme (and a very good one which are currently at #18 with the movie being albums #1 and #2). The movie did get most things right but with only 2 hours the movie had no chance to give the proper background and explanation for such a complicated story - and Recaps even less so.

Sad part about this movie is the selling of the newborns was actually happening in former Yugoslavia, westerners weren’t picking them up at orphanages. Especially in Serbia, where rich people from the west would come and literally order what they would want. Once the baby was born to their liking, it would be pronounced dead at birth, parents wouldn’t even see that baby, and would be created a new identity and would leave the country to the new family. There is a whole movement to find those missing babies, now grownups. A lot of the cases have been solved since 2010’s, but not many people ended up behind bars, at least not yet.
