As much as I love the F16, I feel like it's on the market from many other RC companies too often. There are other fighter jets out there besides the Viper. :D

I know what you mean. It's not exactly a unique offering. A better option that would actually be unique would had been a Saab Viggen. It would had been more ideal for a delta setup and thrust reverser since the real thing has them.

I love this plane! I flew my maiden and at first I thought it was very touchy on the rolls (flying at first with a bit more expo fixed this) and the more I flew it I quickly grew to like its tendency to want to roll since its got an elevon setup and both front and rear surface controls working mechanically together. Its fast, handles nice, you can high alpha it, looks awesome in the air! Also - it comes with an ESC that's got reverse thrust!! Now I gotta remind myself that its available when I'm landing!! ha! For the price its really nice!

You know, the one complaint I have with this is that with other Freewing 64s (F/A-18E, F-22) they have all moving stabilators, but this one doesn’t. I wish it did! That’s my only complaint, good job on this one!

My issue is the all glue assembly. One iffy landing and a wing gets caught and it's done. Potentially ruining the fuselage but I'm of the type that likes modular design where everything can be replaced if broken. To an extent anyway.

Can you take off the landing gear and hand launch it? Will the lower fins rip off with a landing without the landing gear?
@aerospacematt9147
@aerospacematt9147 2 жыл бұрын
It appears to me that the ventrals are only screwed on so if you choose to hand launch it it would be wise to remove them. I doubt it’ll take much to scuff up on a belly landing
@MotionRC
@MotionRC 2 жыл бұрын
Flew it yesterday with the lower fins and belly landed it out in the grass without damage. I will recommend getting the nose up and slowing it down for landing with the fins. But as aerospace Matt said you could always unscrew them

@evoman44
@evoman44 2 жыл бұрын
This model looks appealing for it's simplicity and affordability. However it's simplicity does not fit the F-16 well. An elevon setup would had been more ideal on a true delta wing like an F-106 or a Saab Viggen which actually happens to have a thrust reverser. Plus either of those would have been a unique offering than the usual F-16 that just about every RC company has in their lineup.

The roll rate will be good when both the elevator and the aileron move up but it doesn't look right when you give up elevator and the ailerons both go up as well. Did I miss something?

I find with admiral 4S 2200 battery pushed as far back as it will go it’s just a tad nose heavy in reference to the recommended cg on the wings. Anyone had to add weight to tail or does it fly well like this?
@motocruiserman9675
@motocruiserman9675 Жыл бұрын
looking at this video it is clear to me that it is really not a PNP model. It is more like ARF because of all the parts that needs to be put together. The price is good but for me it feels like there are too many things that can go wrong since it needs wireing and glueing. I wish more parts would have been prepared.
@MotionRC
@MotionRC Жыл бұрын
An arf would come with no electronics. This is a standard PNP.
@motocruiserman9675
@motocruiserman9675 Жыл бұрын
Ok, I am sorry for getting it wrong then. Does all PNP models require rudder and flap installation and wirering?
@MotionRC
@MotionRC Жыл бұрын
@@motocruiserman9675 Yes. Not many RC aircraft can fit in the box with the wings/vertical stabs/horizonal stabs attached. Some semblance of glue/screws will be required to assemble a model and plugging in wires is par for the course as by definition of PNP (plug n play) is no receiver is included. You provide your own receiver that works with your own transmitter and have to hook it up.

How do I set up the gyro if this doesn't have an elevator.
@MotionRC
@MotionRC 2 жыл бұрын
you will use the elevon setting on the gyro itself (admiral or hobby eagle has the option). Then you don't need to use the elevon setting in the transmitter as the gyro will do the mix.

With technology being what it is why not put a survey out to ask what consumers would like in a 64mm f-16…? Seems like that thought never crosses a manufacturer’s mind….
@evoman44
@evoman44 2 жыл бұрын
Because this is supposed to be a basic affordable model. If not even the 70mm model doesn't have them then that should tell you how complex and costly it is to do on the F-16.
