A little birdie told me - They see it fitting in between Shocks and Velocity. Blue coral will be able to tumble a bit more than the shock and act bigger, but not as responsive to friction as a ripcord. On surfaces where the ripcord may be to clean this will be the ball in transition before getting into shocks.

Interesting but I actually see a variation of that. I see the Shock being stronger than the Blue Coral. But I would agree between the Shock and Velocity. Just slightly later read than the Shock. I see the Shock tumbling more than the Blue Coral but yes, not as responsive to friction as the Velocity.

The Recoil also has an asymmetrical gear weight block .

Thanks appreciate it. I think there is a distinction between the shock and blue coral. The biggest thing is, I make it simple. Where does it fit in the arsenal categories. I don't want to overcomplicate it. 6 slots max. So they both fit in mid control. Now the decision is to pick one. I don't work for Motiv so I won't sell anyone on buying balls. I just try to give enough info that you can make the decision yourself.

I'm really excited for this piece. Nearly pulled the trigger on a Recoil that was still floating around a few days before this ball was announced. Very happy I held out a little longer. Where it'll fit in my bag is a bit tricky, I think. I have a Shock at 3000 and an Enzo OOB. Shock is obviously my smooth control piece and the Enzo is my late ball with length. I throw 17-18 MPH so the Fatal and Thrills are too weak for me as a late ball. For the top end, I'd likely be looking at either an Iron Forge or Mythic and a Trident Odyssey as the big boy. If the new Coral Venom can slide somewhere between the Shock and Forge/Mythic, I might be set. You have any thoughts? Appreciate your content as always! Looking forward to the next video.

Sorry I missed this for a few days. Didn't get notifications for some reason so just catching up. Anyway, if you check out the reviews I posted now, I see it actually just under the Shock. It's a nuance difference but I shutter to say I might find the Blue Coral Venom a little easier to slot in the Mid Control than the Shock, especially when you want just a touch less bite. My Shock can feel a bit too strong sometimes for the mid control. So you'd have to think about that fit in your arsenal.

It appears to have that strong skid/flip roll to it. Used to love throwing those types of balls but now I prefer the strong arc motion.

The Blue Coral Venom is definitely not skid/flip for me. Check out the videos. It's smack dab in the middle of the bag being a mid control ball.

@@TamerBowling Yeah I see that. I have more of a forward roll tilt if you will so my balls tend to push a bit more down lane and change direction quickly upon hitting the dry. I suspect this ball will support that type manipulation.

@@user-zf1ol7op7y It's smart to consider the ball motion with your specific style. I have intentionally added tilt to get more forgiveness. I went from 5 degrees to 12 degrees (took a lot of work). I used to have low tilt and high rotation which meant everything responded hard off the dry with less forgiveness.

@@TamerBowling Yeah I discovered that some time ago. As you know not every bowling will accommodate your style or roll but I found pretty good success with Motiv and Roto Grip lines. I can throw those products straight out of the box and get good success. Anything else requires me to make surfaces changes, etc. Taking the path of least resistance. 😁

It's a new and updated venom recoil, I think the original venom strike was more angular than the fatal venom

I would agree from what I've seen. The Fatal is pretty smooth transitioning

It's definitely interesting to me that they decided to go with this ball. The Fatal Venom seemed to be pretty well received. I would have imagined something similar being mild Asym but with more diff to replace the Ripcord series which always seemed a little out of place to me.
